The Ukrainians are the heroes. They are fighting and dying opposing Putin’s nefarious aims, while some Americans are whining about gas and food prices.
The Ukrainians, on the other hand, have provided a toll-free number for Russian Army members to surrender and be taken as prisoners of war. Very clever people, Ukrainians…
For a time after WWII and Korea that the US was perceived — as their pledge of allegiance asserts — indivisible and it would make authoritarian nations pause before acting knowing that all Americans would be united against dictatorships and those who suppress free elections. There has been a growing division since the Vietnam war and now the world no longer perceives the US as the strong indivisible nation it once was.
How many government leaders cannot understand the concept of “get out of my country”? Russia attempted to take over Afghanistan for over 10 years. The US did the same for almost 20. The French did the same in Indo-China, before deciding to let the Americans fight their “war” against communism in Viet Nam.

This is a window into trump’s goal if he gets a second term; total control of a dictatorship.

Honestly, just like us with right-wing populism, it’s time the Russian people deal with the leader that they have allowed to run their country.
