No wonder you don’t see much toads in the desert; they’re either eaten by predators or their tadpoles’ pools evaporate.

The Wikipedia says the toads are “docile and easily handled”. I guess they have to be, if they were born worry-warts (sorry, all you toads out there), they’d be nervous wrecks by the time they became adults.
