When Jack asked BO where he was keeping the money, BO shoulda told him he lost it at the track. Y’know, easy come; easy go! Those trifectas are hard!

Those are some magical lapels on B.O.’s coat. First you see ‘em, then you don’t!

That is one ugly hand in the last panel!

    Happy Easter!!

“SCANDAL! APT.3-G STEALS PLOT FROM MARY WORTH” So read the caption of an article on the “Houston Chronicle’s” Archives Board (for 3-G strip of 2-21-09 and Mary Worth of 1-05-07) With copies of the strips.

One might have thought that they may have observed the same thing happening on current Tracy, compared to the Queenie 2007 story in this strip, which has been noted before. Villain with SAME name here and the “dates” for month and year match exactly. The “scandal” here is of course lack of originality. It’s flagrant “repetition”. That’s what our former member should consider, “sigh”, moan, and resign about!

But in the Locher Kilian World, using the same NAME twice, is not a new practice, they did it before with a “Mr. Wheels” in a 1993, snd again in 2001 with the same name “repeated” in the first Mr. Oily story.

In Dick Tracy it’s not breaking new ground. Compare the similarities of Queenie’s death to that of Ugly Christine and Al Kinda’s duplicate plunge onto the Flag Pole like The Brow’s. Gertie, who was present at the latter two must have been flooded with “memories”

    The “Rubber Duckie” !

I know we all gave Jim “pin-stripe-tie” Brozman a “pass”, (I even applauded), for dropping the rubber duckie (a.k.a The memorial Teat or Mammary) but, it just may have been a bit premature!

It may be a slight stretch, but the eye shadow on Jack’s face (panel 5) by his brow, is arguably the mammary in “black”. The same seems true of Sunday 3-22-09.

Then, last Sunday’s “presentation” (3-29-09) decieved us all! It’s right there double, (like a “full pair”) in panel 7, and actually appears in “yellow”! See skirting boards by lower part of doors.

Sorry Jim, I take back that “badge” of “Manly Independence” I granted you.

Never thought you would “Kowtow” (or DO an “Obama”) to a memorial “tit”!

    A ZANY LIMERICK

Like a Kowtow in the Straights off Arabia Wouldn’t think they’d condone this behavior, Like Tracy scratching his head, We thought the “duckie” was dead But Jim still did his “thing”, like Obama.

See Macey, if you’d just gone ahead and tried his system you might have learned something. But instead you have to get all sneaky and use that b00b BO as your stooge. And you never did tell him what the wire was. Nice little plot device there, with the asterix and all, but did BO ever see it? Come on, the guy asked a direct question, you don’t need to be clever and tell us without telling him. After all, anyone over the age of 3, other than BO plenty, already KNOWS what a ‘wire’ is. Geez-Louise!

DT seems to be doing one of 2 things in the last panel: Either ripping off the rest of his Batman half-mask, or gouging out his eye so he can be “Just Like Jack.”

Tracy realizes, at the very end, that he coulda had a V-8. But how did he figure painting BO green would help getting evidence against the crooks?

    Happy Easter!

I thought the ducky was the top of B.O.’s hat in panel 2.

I’ve just gotten back into some of the comics I used to read with my grandfather as a kid (Annie, Gasoline Alley and Dick Tracy) and have to say that while the other two are being handled decently, THIS strip needs help!

What is up in the comics pages when I (former MTV animator and current art teacher) could do a MUCH better Dick Tracy strip. I have 9th graders who hate art who could draw hands like this guy.

And this strip was my favorite as a kid…

Tracy has his trench coat on, then off, then it’s on again.

Continuity is not a strong point.

In this Dick Tracy World, attention to “detail” is woefully absent. It’s a poster strip for artistic contradictions.

Could it be that the last panel shows Tracy having a fatal stroke? Could this be the end of Dick Tracy?! (Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?)

I don’t expect brilliance out of a strip that’s well past it’s prime, but I do expect the artist to have some sense of pride and responsibility to the strip.

I would have stayed up all night redrawing that hand in the last panel if THAT is what I arrived at.

    He decided, “DONE!”

    Not good enough…

Still, glad to rediscover Dick Tracy again and I’m just finishing up Volume 6 of the complete collection. What a difference 60 + years make…

The Sunday coloring job, as usual, looks someone mistook the panels for Easter eggs and dyed them accordingly. Appropriate for today perhaps, but must it be like this every Sunday? B.O. looks very sickly in the second to last panel as he does his imitation of Napoleon Bonaparte exposed to nuclear radiation.

I’m amazed that there was not a single comment about BO using Macy’s actual name when spilling the beans to ‘ol One Eye.

Gosh, Jack! Let me ask Gertie how she’d like the goose! Will that be with goose dressing too? You folks really know how to treat your customers! A feller could really get spoiled at this casino!
