Blue and yellow Switzerland flag? Really?

Why is the Swiss flag blue and yellow?? The Real Swiss flag is square, not rectangle, with a red background and white cross. (Americans use it as the symbol for medical help… which really bugs all of us Swiss folks ;D… I’m half Swiss) Fun Fact: The Swiss formed the Red Cross and inverted their flag (white background, red cross) for the symbol. Somehow it got reversed in the US.

So the idea in Switzerland is to be polite when applying for citizenship; and as soon as you’re granted citizenship, you can be as annoying as you want.
