Send in the bookworms.

It’s a classic move.

“Listen, just because he’s literally moving doesn’t mean figuratively he’s better than us.”

In five years he’ll be in the bargain bin.

Then again, if the literature is the truth, then maybe he is because …

“Truth is greater than Fiction.”

I can remember when “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” first came out. It was this subversive, cult, sci-fi oddity, eschewed as silly and counter-cultural. Now it’s considered great satirical literature and is assigned-reading for high school students.

Although my first exposure to it was as radio drama. The books came later.

He’s a victim of the Dewey Misplaced Decimal System.

He’s beginning a new chapter in life.

Actually, it does mean he’s better … a book for the ages!

What happens when he moves from fiction to reference?

Well I certainly hope he’s not in a tight bind-er…. I heard he’s top shelf now…

There is a lot of fiction now considered literature, e.g., The Iliad and The Odyssey.

Actually, yes it does.

Too late to stop him; he’s already booked his passage.

Maybe he’s just working his way through the Historical Fiction section. Kind of in between.

At least he’s not banned.

Nearly all books are literature

Just means he’s older than us.

The vast majority— not all, but nearly so— of “literature” bores me to tears. I consider it a label for pretentiousness, anymore.
