Some years back my wife and I bought some rose bushes and planted one in the back yard at the end of the patio. About an hour later, we saw one of the dogs prancing around the yard with the thing in his mouth looking so pleased with himself. I took it away from him and replanted it and put up a chickenwire enclosure around it. About 2 hours later, my wife looked out and wondered aloud what the dog was chewing on. Went to check and he had uprooted the chickenwire and the rose bush and had chewed the rose bush to pieces. Must have been something about that particular plant because it was the only thing he ever messed with.
