I set up my pill organizer for 5 days a week. It isn’t necessary to take a one-a-day every day. If I forget a day, it’s OK, and the pill organizer is still good.

We take about a dozen supplements/vitamins a day. Why doesn’t somebody offer a custom service to send you everything you want in one pill?

All the evidence shows OTC vitamin supplements either do nothing or cause harm. Approach with caution.

That was a problem with marijuana tourism in Colorado. People came here, when it was made illegal, and would eat gummy edibles. The problem was, they ate too many at once.

If not for gummies I wouldn’t be enticed to keep taking my vitamins. Although might need to rethink taking vitamins at all after reading some of the posts here.

Gummi cannabis edibles (Legal in Illinois!) taste terrible, I’m never tempted to eat more than one. Usually half of one, that’s enough to give me the 1970’s effect.

I’ve always thought that candy medicine was a mistake. Cherry and grape flavor liquids, fortunately, taste vile. I’m not sure about gummis. When I was a kid I developed a taste for Elixer Terpin Hydrate with Codeine. I think it was actually the only thing that stopped my croupy cough.

What I don’t get is why you have to take vitamins with food. I did that with vitamin gummies years ago and gave that up. Then I started taking zinc and vitamin D early in the COVID pandemic and have continued to do so for my overall health. I have to take them with food as well.

I really like sour candies. I have to use Flintstones vitamins with iron because I can’t tolerate regular iron supplements. I’m always tempted to take more than I need. If I ever had kids visiting, I’d be sure I hid the bottle, as getting too much iron is one of the biggest dangers to kids.

Never understood the American obsession with supplements. Most of them do nothing, except make some companies rich, and they do not replace a healthy, balanced, diet.

My sister in law is an RN, she has told me that since gummi vitamins hit the market, children’s visits to the ER has significantly gone up alarmingly. Yet Congress, led by Charles Grassley of iowa, refuses to allow the FDA to regulate any kind of “nutritional” supplements, because they aren’t considered medicinal, despite the dangers of overdosing on them.
