    Trying to explain that. Not really something you tend to remember, but the year 1993 might have when restaurants switched from supplying salt shakers where anybody could tamper with loosening the lid so all the salt would pour out onto your meal, to self contained salt paper bags which you had to open personally to be assured of tamper proof. Ketchup bottles soon followed suit. Liz might not have been aware of the disappearance of the salt shaker.
