I live in Tucson, where our water comes either from underground or the Central Arizona Project [from the Colorado River via long "canals. and .. There are 35 golf courses in Tucson, Arizona and 8 are municipal courses. There are also another 9 golf courses within 20 miles of Tucson, including 6 public, 0 municipal and 3 private courses.

Human; the most dangerous and destructive animal.

Zero class consciousness, Matt. Oh I see. Capitalists and workers are all to blame, uh-huh. After all, we workers get to vote on all the crimes that make the bosses rich. Shame on humanity.

…In more ways than one.

It would probably be best for all other life on the planet if humans went the way of the dinosaurs. It is really too bad because mankind knows what to do to mitigate the destruction but haven’t the will to do it. Very sad to think of all the wonderful human accomplishments like music and science being overwhelmed by the greed of the few and lost forever.

Yes, many humans DO seem to approve of sucking the life out of the environment, after all, they’ll be dead and gone by the time it gets too bad.

Yes, we do suck. We are the worst species in this planet’s history.

Not to worry! Both the late Rush Limbaugh, the former guy in the White House, lots and lots of media meteorologists, Libertarian and corporate interest groups (Koch bros alone just over $168M funds for anti-climate change organizations since 1984), my former barber and a bunch of his customers one afternoon — there is no shortage of Americans and others on this planet who know for a fact that climate change is a Chinese hoax, or at least is fake news and not an actual event presently underway.

I was employed by American Telephone & Telegraph for over 35 years. I got to see a lot of the U.S. over the years, attending the various technical schools they had, which ranged from Kansas City during tornado season (7 touched down within 60 miles of my condominium the night I arrived), Phoenix in July (102 degrees at 2 A.M) to Fargo in January (minus 5 degrees at Noon – with 12 inches of snow on the ground) to Melbourne, Florida the night they recorded 8 inches of rain on the coast where my hotel was situated. While none of these weather conditions were attributed to humans – just the perverseness of the scheduling clerks for company schools – it does point out that the U.S.A. already had weather extremes even BEFORE climate change was factored in, and it certainly hasn’t gotten any better over time.

Drawn waaaay out of proportion. In the areas of the country that are on the cusp of depleting their watersheds, the ratio of land dedicated to suburban dreck vs land that is developed at a density that is even remotely urban is far in excess of 100 to 1. If places like Phoenix, Vegas, LA, and San Diego were developed in a fashion that was somewhat proportionate to the drawing (urban and suburban consuming comparable amounts of land), there likely wouldn’t be a water crisis, since far less water would be wasted on nonsense such as suburban lawns.

Reminder: Those who believe that the Earth has too many people can each reduce the population by one, if they choose.

but, but those sand courses are so tough on the finish of my clubs, and don’t get me started on what it does to my cart.
