Lord, I wish the magas would leave Fauci alone. He tried to help the American people to stay alive and well. Then again, as Nance’s title explains, "They Want to Kill Americans: The Militias, Terrorists, and Deranged Ideology of the Trump Insurgency.
I’m double boosted. Wore a mask in the airport and boarding the plane. Went to music festival full of more like minded people than not. Return flight same deal with the mask. Low and behold, no Covid for me. Tested before both flights.
Friends step Granddaughter had to cancel her step daughters memorial service, which had been delayed until this month, because of Covid, due to Covid. And yes, they are all Covidiots. Will be interesting to hear if any of them make it to the world of Sorry Antivaxxer in the near future.
One underlying trope here is that it is unmanly to be good at science. Today’s right is obsessed with manliness—witness Tucker’s recent special and Josh’s forthcoming book. Since the right’s agenda include no effort to make American lives better, or to make the country “live up to the meaning of its creed,” hate and fear are all they have to sell.* And among the most primal of fears is that some “they” are somehow coming for your junk. Fauci’s pushing of masks was resisted largely because masks were felt to be emasculating. This was partly because the men most often seen in such masks before 2019 were men who had done well in science classes, or were Asian, or both, since both groups are stereotyped in MAGAt minds as unmanly. Add to that the undeniable fact that the circumference of Fauci’s cranium exceeds that of his neck, and he makes a perfect whipping boy for the whipping-up of MAGAt animus. And that is precisely what this cartoon is attempting.

Republicans HATE professionals.
They hate anyone who will tell the truth about stuff.
.
They prefer Alex Jones, Rudy G., Eduardo Cruz, Kevin McCarthy, Gym Jordan, and the rest.

One of Henry’s most ignorant toons. How did he get this far into professional worthlessness?

Is this some kind of “classic”? Or is the cartoonist attempting to avoid the payneful reality of his idol’s downfall?

As always, I take the advice and intelligence of Dr. Fauci over the cartoonist.

Henry Payne- in touch with what’s going on in the average American’s life. Certainly, utterly, completely, not an old man yelling at a cloud.

Another mentally ill cartoon.

Maybe we should be gentle with Payne today. After all, his orange hero and role model got caught stealing and hiding classified government documents.
Suppose former president Obama got caught doing that. What would kKemkadiddlehopper, Op, and others of their persuasion be saying about it?

What a stupid and poorly drawn cartoon. Perhaps Mr. Payne has post-COVID brain fog?
