Hey, the doctors are younger, except for the ones in charge.

And when they are dead, they’ll still be in charge of you.

Hmmm…I’m older than most everybody and I’m STILL not in charge

They used to say that you can’t trust anyone over 30. It’s been four decades since I could trust myself.

There is a method to his madness.

Yep. Time for new blood in charge, then those in charge will be younger than me. My age had one 2-term President and that’s it.

Depends on what you mean by “people in charge.” I swear, every one of my doctors is 12 years old.

The old guard will always secure their interests. Pray that their interests do not overwhelm the interests of others. Oh … wait.

This is easy…we always see other people as getting older but not ourselves. Until it hits all at once.

Being an ‘Old White Guy’ , I am ashamed of the Old White Guy Club…Called Congress… Who make rules and laws that are designed to keep old white guys in power….and make sure those of color, or different religions…or marital preferences, or persuasions they don’t agree with don’t get too ‘uppity’ …or have the power to vote… ( Ok…no more politics…)……… k

It’s bad when you outlive your doctor, your tax guy, your barber and your dentist. Really don’t like the young dentist thing.

My doctor said, “If you were my dad, I’d recommend …”

Soon it will be, “If you were my granddad, I’d recommend …”

I’m ready for those younger than me to be in charge.

No one over 70 should be president. NO one.

I like Arlo’s observation. I’m almost 70 and the only President (so far) who has been younger than me is Barack Obama (born 1961). Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump were all born in 1946, Joe Biden in 1942… the other possibilities were older too. Hillary Clinton was born in 1948, and Bernie Sanders is older than Joe Biden. Time for new blood, I think, regardless of political orientation (how about someone born in the 1950’s? – us mid Boomers are feeling left out).

I remember being the youngest person where I worked. I was 21, and my boss said, “Really?, No one’s 21 here!”

No worries. Age & Treachery will always overcome Youth and Skill.

I’m 79 now, and the people in charge are still older than me.

I was born it 1946, so were Bill Clinton, G.W.Bush and Trump. Obama in 1961, the first 3 I’m older than by months.Back to being younger with Biden. Arlo if you re counting local and state governments, and the US House of Representatives, I’m sure you’ll find some younger than you.

Arlo’s error is in assuming age is the basis of being in charge. The people in charge have demonstrated their prowess over the years; that explains the prevalence of old age. If Arlo looked around he would also notice old people who are dependent on others… as is true throughout life.

Husband and I are always in charge. Both of us are always on “the board”. I am always treasurer of every group I am in – back to 6th grade when I was the dues monitor of my Girl Scout troop. He always ends up the president of every group. He did step down as “commander” of our reenactment unit a few years ago and serves as the “assistant commander” – I am the “paymaster general”.
