That just points out the poor wages that are payed in the service industry in the US. I’m sure the GOPers are not advocating a living wage for waitstaff!

“5.3 percent unemployment — that is the biggest joke there is in this country. The unemployment rate is probably 20 percent, but I will tell you, you have some great economists that will tell you it’s a 30, 32. And the highest I’ve heard so far is 42 percent.” That’s the Republican way: always look at the dark side of life.

The first questions I ask when I see claims like this- “Is it true? Is it overblown?”

Yes, more Americans are working multiple jobs compared to a year ago. Far more people are working multiple jobs than in 2020. That comes as no surprise. We all remember the pandemic. Well, most of us.

In January 2020, 5.2% of the labor force had multiple jobs. As of July 2022, it’s at 4.8%.

Once again, what was considered “good” when Trump was in office, is now “bad” according to Repub hypocrites.

Wonder how happy Varvel is now that Trump’s MAGAts in the Senate prevented insulin prices from being capped? As happy as he is that the minimum wage is still too low?

Republicans In Washington Block Biden’s Vital Minimum Wage Increase

    https://www.newsweek.com/three-quarters-republicans-oppose-raising-minimum-wage-poll-1576579

“I don’t believe there ought to be a national minimum wage,” former Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program in 2014, according to Salon.

Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee said he would abolish the federal minimum wage while discussing the issue during a Congressional hearing, according to The Huffington Post.

“The question I want to ask, if we are interested in social justice, and we want to honor work instead of getting a welfare check, then wouldn’t a more efficient way to help people in poverty be to increase the earned-income tax credit rather than do what we always do here, which is come up with a big idea and send the bill to somebody else?”

    3. “I think it actually is counterproductive in many ways,” Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin said about the minimum wage, according to Think Progress.

“Look, I wish we could just pass a law saying everybody should make more money without any adverse consequences,” he said. “The problem is you’re costing jobs from those who are just trying to get entry level jobs.”

    4. “The question is, is a minimum wage the best way to do it?” asked Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida.

“And history has said the answer is absolutely not. In fact, the impact of minimum wage usually is that businesses hire less people,” Sen. Rubio said according to Think Progress.

“That’s the impact of it. They’ll just hire less people to do the same amount of work … We have a lot of history to prove that

Maybe lying traitor republiguns will raise the $7.25 minimum wage, snerk, ha ha ha, republiguns want to lower the min wage so you can be a virtual slave on their virtual plantation, they are a nasty joke and they want to take your vote away.

Inflation is costing the average family $7,500.00 The rate is 9%. Wages are going up a third of that. Thanks Biden. This is 100% on the democrats. Don’t believe me? Americans’ views of Biden’s handling of the economic recovery remain overwhelmingly negative — and are virtually unchanged from the same poll in early June, with only 37% of Americans approving of the job the president is doing and 62% disapproving in the latest ABC News/Ipsos poll.
