the last time i wore a tie i ended up looking like a convict minus the red suit and the platform

I so identify with Dan, I am such an organizer I even organize my lists. And just like the English royals, for the last few years of MIL’s life I even packed semi-dressy black clothes while we were at the camper, just in case, remembering that in the grief and haste when my Dad died we left without my hub’s sport coat and had to frantically shop for one when we got there.
