Concrete plans call for the elimination of Ambassador Thorin on the last day of Tracy’s visit. A smug gesture of confidence from Deputy Governor Ro-Zan tells us that he believes he can’t fail.
He holds ALL the aces, he likes to think. I’d almost bet Tracy has the (ex-machine-dooshy) ring tho’ I really hope he and Thorin can win with (a) cunning (plan).
I look forward to seeing this smug monster cut down to size, especially since Tracy is FAMILIAR with them.. he knows they can melt a regular gun and likely either came armed with one prepared, just in case, from diet smith, or has something else in mind. But I don’t mind it: it’s part of what makes this fight intresting as we dont’ know HOW Dick will get his way out of it, but we know he probably will as his opponent VASTLY underestimates him and from what I have read of the strip (which isn’t a lot) that’s usually the last mistake a person makes in the Dick Tracy Universe)
Unless he gets the “drop” on you first… (Your friends may get me in a rush, but not before I make your head into a canoe, you understand me? Wyatt Earp, “Tombstone”)
Seems the notion of Shay-Gin’s easy-peasy escape being part of a trap was another false alarm, but at least now we finally do have a confirmed enemy timetable to move against Thorin and Tracy….
“So, let me ask you a question about this brave new world of yours. When you’ve killed all the bad guys, and it’s all perfect and just and fair, when you have finally got it exactly the way you want it, what are you going to do with the people like you? The troublemakers. How are you going to protect your glorious revolution from the next one?”- I’m sorry but I’m imagining the interference from a certain gentleman with a mop of curly hair, big teeth and a long scarf knitted for him by Madame de Farge.
OFF TOPIC: Now THAT’S timing. Terri just gave me a larger Fire tablet two weeks early, as my birthday present. And today her Kindle died. Guess she gets the old, smaller one. Now I have to rethink HER present.
The Lunarians apparently think about melting guns often enough. I guess the implication is that firearms are not going to be effective for defense against Lunarians. Given Thorin’s adverse reaction against Tracy’s firearm at the beginning of this arc, I doubt Tracy brought a firearm anyway. If Tracy managed to get the ring to bring it (wasn’t it kept in safekeeping?) this would have been the reason he brought it. Could it be that Smith reverse-engineered the technology behind the ring and developed some other items to protect against the Lunarians’ special abilities? Tracy’s trademark yellow hat and coat could have some special thread woven in or something. I wonder how Mysta would feel about that if it were the case.
Been having some back and forth with Morrow’s “buddy” Matt H. at Facebook the last couple of days. Said he left GC and was not banned and he hates Morrow as much now as back in the day and does not even read the strip. So sad.
Tezla serves as a convenient Teleprompter (panel 2). Maniacal Maximum Leader Ro-Zan is convinced from prior experience that his Melting Finger of Fate would destroy any gun Tracy might be carrying. Suppose, however, that melting power worked on steel guns, but Tracy was packing a new polymer pistol. Maybe the Melting Finger doesn’t work on plastics?
Started at Walgreens today (18th) and its hell…tried to teach me register, stocking shelves, collecting garbage from inside AND outside the store, pulling stock, photo department, shipping AND receiving fed ex packages, cashing out registers, counting the drawers, balancing daily deposits, printing shelf labels…all in 6 hours…I had no idea what she was doing and THEN she says that “oh, I can’t guarantee you that you’ll get Saturdays and Sundays off”… then said to me at LEAST five times “well, let me know if this is something that you want to do or not” and that “is the Saturday and Sunday off a dealbreaker?”

If the Lunarians are living underground, how are they getting re-powered by sunlight? For that matter, how would they deal with 6 months of darkness?
I don’t recall…are they able to recharge sufficiently with artificial light?
