Count your blessings Snoopy! we all should!

I do like Lucy just.. casually carting Spike around while he’s just okay with it. A reminder that while I can be harsh on strips when I comment here.. I know greatness when I see it. This strip is fine without noticing those touches (as I hadn’t before) but that simple little touch makes an already good strip better.

Charlie Brown and Snoopy have never liked each other.

I like Lucy holding dear Spike’s hand. Very touching.

And how long will it take for you to forget— Oh, he already did.

Spike is probably one of those beings that can eat a mountain of food and not gain an ounce. Have fun Lucy!

Spike is a nebbish from living in the empty desert for so long. He deserves a solid meal.

Ha ha ha ha — this one got a big belly laugh from me. Pun intended. And yes, I resemble those remarks.

Snoopy does take things for granted.

All these comments about Spike being so skinny because he has been out in the desert have me looking over at The Spooky Dog curled up peacefully on the living room floor. Spring of 2019 two wonderful people managed to trap him out in the Arizona desert. It was not easy because he was cagey and he’s very smart. He still doesn’t trust people. Like Spike he was skin and bones plus he was very unhealthy. He has gained weight and has a luxuriant black coat. But he is still hypervigilant so he “spooks” at the slightest noise or unexpected movement. And he will eat anything that is remotely edible. Spike may be confused by people fussing over him but he sure seems to accept it.
