Loony Lisa hasn’t been paying attention lately. This may have been true a little over a month ago, but there’s nothing like taking away rights from over half the country and threatening the health and welfare of future generations by a pseudo-religious RWSC that has a large segment of the population ready to rectify that problem and the people who created it.
From the moment the Roe v Wade decision came down the GOP and the religious right started to work on overturning it. Slowly but surely they were able to put in their people because no one was paying attention. The price of gas, revenge for 911 and a whole host of other “more important issues” had their attention and not the most important personal issue, the right to make your own personal medical decision without interference from the Government. Then the Orange Butt hole was elected and they won the lottery because no one was paying attention to who his rabid supporters were and didn’t forcefully counter their narrative. Women voted for Trump in 2016 in greater numbers than was expected which I still don’t understand. I’m not sure if the Dems have the patience and stamina it will take to elect the people we need to overcome and overturn the travesty and tragedy that the SC has set upon America. November is a long way off and our attention span is getting shorter and shorter as each day passes.
Lisa- if you’re referring to the two huge Republican bombshells of the Supreme Court Roe v. Wade (and other SNAFUs) and the Jan6 revelations of the Traitor in Chief then I’d say you’re spot on with half of your attempt of editorial humor.
Republicans better get their voter suppression laws up and running quickly. Recent SCOTUS decisions have enraged Democrats. Blue wave in November (’22 & ’24).
With the RW SCOTUS removing a women’s right to control her own body, plus overriding concealed carry prohibitions, they’ve actually helping the Democrats.
You really have to laugh at conservatives like Benson.
That rocket of hers is filled with nothing but empty declarations and a promise of a race to the past evils christian conservatives have been forcing themselves and their goals against the will of the American people.
There will always be a handful of loud, obnoxious right-wingnuts yearning to bring the country back to the racist, bigoted ignorance of the past (MAGA), but the funny part is that they believe the rest of the country and the world is supporting them.
The polls prove that Biden and Harris (lowest approval ratings in history for both) are showing the Independents that democrats cannot run the country. The worst gas prices ever, highest grocery prices / inflation in 40 years, the stock markets worst performance in 70 years, southern border disasters, crime increases across the country, Afghanistan pull out, etc etc etc. There is nothing Biden has done that helps people in the middle or lower down the economic ladder. The proposed student debt elimination is a bold-faced lie intended to buy votes. Good luck dems. Lisa’s comic is right on!
I’m afraid that our esteemed Dem leadership are assuming that noone in their right mind would vote for Repubs in ’22 after seeing the near coup by their leader and chief Dump. But, the Dem leaders forget that that was what they thought in the ’16 election, too. That election showed just how stupid much of the electorate can be and evidently stupidity is contagious even to the Dem leadership.
My concern is Lisa is probably right – which means the country will continue its full-tilt stampede into the toilet. Y’all do know that The Handmaid’s Tale was supposed to be fiction, right, not an instruction manual?
Only the fanatical left (like we see on this site) will care about any of the Court’s decisions or the congressional circus “hearings” in November. Everyone else will vote on “It’s the economy, stupid!”. And since the fanatical left would NEVER vote for a Republican, all the hysteria we’re seeing today won’t make any difference. Finally, (once again) thanks RBG!
The far right Republicans seem to think that the repeal of Roe affects only women who voted for Joe Biden. The truth is that it affects all women, including southern women and suburban Republican women. The Republican Party may be in for a shock come November.
