I wondered which of the right whingers would be first off the mark to blame Biden for that. Aaaand (here, in the order I read the ’toons) the winnah and still CHAMPION is … Al (the incompetent) Goodwyn!
Blame the apologists for businesses who illegally hire noncitizen workers, mostly but not entirely Republican, who prevent effective penalties from being imposed on the lawbreakers who drive the demand for illegal immigration.
Why enter USA?Other than the poverty, violence, racism, cost of health care, cost of post secondary education, poor quality of public education, crime, amount of people in jail, low wages and extreme public polarization it’s ok.
The cognitive dissonance never ceases to amaze. IF the borders are “open”, why do people risk their lives, hiding while crossing? Why such callousness, trying to score points when people died?
If you remember, Kamala Harris toured Latin American countries telling them specifically not to come. Unfortunately, like many in our country, the people there often listen to propaganda rather than the truth.
Actions taken by Abbott and others like him generate a lot of fear among people of color, even those that were born in U.S. They may know someone who is undocumented and there have been instances of U.S. citizens getting deported (it isn’t just a Cheech Marin song). People that may know something about these crimes won’t report them or testify because they fear too much scrutiny.
If the USA had not stuck its nose into the governments of so many South American countries for our benefit and corporations then there wouldn’t be so many trying to get away from the mess we created.
Question. If we have open borders and Pres. Biden is welcoming immigrants, why did 49 people feel the need to be crammed into a 18 wheeler? Why not just walk across the border and call an Uber?
In a report about illegal immigrants, the ones interviewed were taking the risk of crossing the border because they had jobs lined up and waiting for them.
‘Massive betrayal’: Biden cuts deal with McConnell to nominate anti-abortion judge
President Joe Biden has reportedly struck a deal with Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to nominate an anti-abortion lawyer to a lifetime federal judgeship in Kentucky, news that comes less than a week after the U.S. Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion.
“Lifetime appointments to federal courts for people with records like Chad Meredith are unacceptable.”
In exchange, McConnell (R-Ky.) has purportedly agreed not to obstruct the president’s future judicial nominations—a vow that was met with deep skepticism from outside observers, given the Kentucky Republican’s long record of cynical machinations that have yanked the Supreme Court and lower courts to the right for decades to come.
Really think we should give the portions of Texas we stole from Mexico back to Mexico.
Drugs are easier to stop at the border than smugglers. BTW, this is not the only country that has a problem with human smugglers killing people by abandoning them in a trailer.

Desperate people do desperate things. What we need to address is why people feel so desperate to allow themselves to be locked in the back of a tractor trailer, packed in like sardines, that they cannot open from the inside?

Since this happened even during the Trump administration (and before), how exactly is Biden to blame?

The fact that they had to get in that way pretty much proves that the border ISN’T open – otherwise they could have just strolled in.
