    ^^Denial of anything else from her testimony? Or just latching your teeth on to that piece of evidence and pretending that is all she said?

    He got in the car thinking he was going to the Capitol Building. He was enraged when they said he wasn’t. It doesn’t need to get much worse than that. The Secret Service need to show up under oath and tell their first hand story. Meadows and Cippolone need to show up because she heard their conversations first hand. If she was lying they can dispute her sworn testimony with their own sworn testimony.

    The SS agents need to testify under oath. Do NOT focus on the sensationalist part of the story (did Trump lunge at the steering wheel). Focus on questions about Trump being informed that there were plenty of insurrectionists with guns and that Trump stated that he wanted to go to the Capitol to encourage them.

    Plenty of Ms. Hutchinson’s testimony covered things she heard and witnessed directly. Gym Jordan is one trying to pass everything off as hearsay, but he’s been given some examples of what is hearsay is and what is not.

    A lot of you folks are missing the important bit. #45 wanted the metal detectors at the Capitol removed.

    Why? “They’re not here to hurt me.” So who ARE they there to hurt, pray tell? He knew. There’s no reason to remove the metal detectors when you KNOW there are people with weapons, unless those people are working for you.

    It has become very clear that this was absolutely a plan to overthrow the government violently, and #45 knew it, empowered it, and encouraged it.

    The ketchup story is a distraction. Wresting the wheel away from the Secret Service agent is a distraction – but wanting to go to the Capitol was not.

    Ms. Hutchinson’s testimony regarding this particular incident is hearsay and not admissible unless she was in the vehicle. The vast majority of her other testimony, however, when she was the room when discussions about impeding the transfer of power, are admissible.

    She did not say that this is what happened in the vehicle. She said this was what she was told.Funny is, Trump got all hot under the collar about her testimony regarding this particular incident — which is utterly unimportant — and NOT about his wanting to get rid of the mags, not caring that there were armed people headed toward the capital. He never denied in his “tweets” that he knew about them and ordered the mags to be removed.

    trumps actions boggle the mind.. but the idea of him lunging and taking over the steering wheel stretches that “boggle”.. I know, why not ask the driver?

    They should have driven Trump to the riot.

    His supporters are so dumb the odds were 50-50 they would have trampled him to death by mistake.

    Remember when the lying right wing trolls swore there were no guns at their Capitol riot?

    Trump had to lead the insurrection, he lost because he didn’t.

    Vegas MAGA rioter accused of plot to bring firearms to Capitol — now he’s working with feds

    DeGrave and Sandlin were hit with felony charges last September amid evidence they “discussed shipping guns” to the Capitol for the fight.

    Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony about Trump’s insisting that weapons be allowed into his rally, saying “They’re not here to hurt me,” reminded me of the punch line in a favourite movie:

    * * * * * Spoiler for the excellent and haunting 1974 movie The Conversation * * * * *

    Surveillance expert Harry Caul (Gene Hackman) has been hired by a mysterious employer to record a conversation between a man and a woman in Union Square, San Francisco. With several microphones around the Square, he spends much of the movie mixing and refining the tape of the (titular) conversation. As he works on the recording, we hear one of them saying, “He’d kill us if he knew” several times. Having once been involved in a surveillance that resulted in some murders, Harry guesses that the conversation is between an adulterous wife and her lover, and that his employer, on hearing the evidence, might have the couple killed. He stalls handing over the tape, but it’s eventually taken from him by his employer’s agent. He then discovers that it’s his employer who is murdered, and apparently by (or with the connivance of) the couple. Fiddling and refining the tape mix, he finally hears what the couple were saying: “He’d kill us if he knew.”
