Of course! The best way to ensure that someone will commit mass murder when they are eighteen, is to force them into a world where no one wants or loves them.
In honesty, I know that Ms Barrett does not prefer that children die. Did you know her husband has adopted several non-white kids (which of course Amy supports as her religion demands)? On the other hand, thinking that reducing restrictions on gun ownership and behavior has no consequences is dumber than dryer lint. As for forcing women to carry EVERY fetus to term, well, she’s already a slave in her own mind… so I’m guessing she has not concept that women can be first class citizens with first class rights.
—) As bizarre and disturbing as our current social problems seem to us, imagine how they would appear to humans from the Past and Future. Long after Amy Barrett and her brand of Christianity are gone, the SCOTUS itself judged as a flawed and obsolete judicial entity, world governments changed according to whatever political philosophies gain power — humanity will certainly be so different as to defy our current prediction.
I have enjoyed Frederick Pohl’s fiction for many years. His fanciful descriptions of future human societies are amusing, as well disturbing no doubt to those who assume the world will continue on as a comforting extension of our Present. For kicks, read this link to his 1966 science fantasy, “Day Million”:
I’m a bit confused by the Gospel of the GOP. Jesus loves the fetuses. Jesus loves the children. Jesus loves the guns, especially the rapid-fire highly efficient killers of humans that Jesus loves. Sigh.
The bizarre and backward reality that has manifested itself from christianity is a constant reminder why we need to seriously focus on making education a priority over tolerating the religious.
Nations allowing abortion include those with gestational limits (I believe 14 to 16 weeks is typical but don’t quote me) and exemptions for preserving the mother’s life and/or health. U.S. states totally banning abortion in all cases have not just fallen back to the Middle Ages, they have interjected themselves into a highly personal decision with spurious religous and legal arguments.

She’s merely enforcing the Catholic Church’s stance on abortion. As though the rest of us non-Catholics have no say in OUR religious freedom.
