I can’t sit outside in the cooler evening because of the blood loss to the skeeters. As long as the drought was holding it wasn’t to bad but once it rained…well you know.

In the second panel is JJ implying the Dark Side has taken over their flower beds?

Moss Rose has taken over most of my pots and they’re starting to get thick now, BUT, the blooms are GONE by noon!

Skeeters want you to share your blood but they don’t share well themselves.

Mosquitos I can handle…..It’s the black flies here in Maine that really take chunks out of you. At the end of the day I’ll run my fingers through my hair and find where there are scabs of dry blood on my scalp where they’ve had their fill and left.

That’s how I felt about my flowers when I lived in Florida. I got to enjoy them briefly when I left or came home or early in the weekend mornings when I tended to them. Otherwise it was too buggy and too hot.

I just found out that mosquitoes don’t like catnip. I grow tons of it for the bees who like the flowers.

The bees and butterflies don’t have that problem. They’re just soaking it up.

With the right flowers you can fend off the biting insects. They might be not as pretty, but you’re going to love them if your place is invaded otherwise.

We have great fun sitting on the back porch drinking beer and watching the bug zapper go go go!

All my spring flowers pretty much burned up during a two week period of 90° plus temperatures. Just don’t have the interest or energy to start it all over.

Spray or spread bug-b-gone on the lawn & evergreens – not your flower beds. No skeeters.

Live near Klamath Lake. The mosquitoes have to have aircraft markings on their tails…

Bats and purple martins feast on skeeters. Crows like them too. Also putting Lemon scented dishwashing liquid out usually works.

We have found that the cheapy mosquito coils the dollar store sells keeps the pests away from us all day long and the punk is chemical free and harmless to everyone.
