Democratic candidates for governor are within striking distance in Texas, Florida and Georgia.
Democratic candidates in those states could energize the turnout from women voters with one simple campaign promise:
“A governor cannot change the laws alone. But a governor can issue pardons. I promise that any women, doctors or clinic staff convicted under anti-abortion laws will receive immediate pardons.”
I couldn’t think of a better illustration of the results of overturning Roe. Well, maybe a drawing of conservative women marching in lockstep behind the GOP’s leadership, holding their wrists aloft. “Give me my chains!” they scream.
I have no desire to celebrate Independence Day this year doing the traditional things and I don’t know if I ever will again. I think we should mark the day the SC overturned Roe v Wade as the day we lost the separation of church and state.
Answer: when a super majority of voters install a super majority of Democrats in Washington and in state capitols. The right wing minority has worked the system to leverage advantages that require a mass assault.
Our country was founded on escaping the horrors of religion. Religion has no place in government. People will never thrive and prosper and grow as long as there are people who can force us into living their 14th century fantasies. Especially women. The November elections will let us know if we are ready yet for the 21st century.

And if the red-state forced-birthers go after women who travel to sane states for abortions, they have their model legislation ready made: The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850.
Silly cartoon. Abortion is legal and a majority of the population will have no change. The rage machine is losing an issue and cannot stand it. The must rage and rage they will.
The whole point of caring is that you care for minorities just as much.Next time you look in the mirror, think about the affected minority, and have a good hard look at yourself.
Mike Pence was half right when he said the majority justices in Dobbs “had the courage of their convictions”. Not the “courage” part; it doesn’t require much courage to do whatever you feel like when you’ve got a lifetime appointment with a handsome guaranteed salary. No, it was the “their convictions” part — their personal religious convictions, not the law of the land, certainly not the science or medicine.
The decision of those 6 Catholics was based on a “C” document, all right: not the Constitution but rather the Catholic Catechism.
Did the Supreme Court overturn a law or a precedent, yes overturning Rov V Wade overturned 50 years of Jurisprudence, just like passing Roe v Wade overturned over 180 years of Jurisprudence. So everyone take a breath and contact your state legislature. And leave the rest of us alone.

Fifty years ago. And, one may hope, nowhere near that far into the future.

The kitchen and bedroom must be as close together as possible. Says so in the MAGA Constitution! Praise the Lord and pass the Viagra!

We did have a Democratic Republic. We let them steal it, one small step at a time

Gosh, from some of the comments today, it seems that the Pogue Reich incels are scared that women will be celebrating the 4th with a weenie roast.
Of course in reality they haven’t got a thing to worry ’bout.
