Sadly there is a lot of sea life that has been damaged by lost fishing gear.

Luckily the boat broke just in front of the bulkhead.

This makes me wonder about science. Why would the bow of a wooden boat sink when the stern floats and they look like they were made out of the same type of wood.

Interesting how the half-boat is staying afloat there…

Somewhere on Vancouver Island there is a fishing lure high in the mountains left there by an eagle that took my small salmon. Snatched it some 60 feet from the end of my boat, flasher sinker and all. Cut my line after deciding the eagle was not about to let it go.

As a fisherman, I’ve lost a few fish when the line broke. I prefer to think of it as introducing the fish to the Goth culture.

Didn’t think that whales (except for maybe Moby Dick) were that aggressive.

New word for the day. A bristle like substance in the whale’s mouth that helps filter the food that comes in. Yeah, I looked it up.

It takes a lot of fishing line for a blue whale to floss its baleen.

BC would’ve been in the belly of a whale, but the rod was more appetizing.
