“Funny” how one of the few cities in Oregon that uses a speed camera, is also one of the few where traffic school isn’t an option. I guess a couple million in fines a year talks to a city council.
I know this is in Canada, but we have them in the US too.
If the US still had the spirit that caused the Fourth of July to be celebrated as a holiday, every single one of those government spy contraptions would have been shot in its camera by people with rifles. The fact they still exist shows that the US has completely lost what once made it a special place.
Happy Fourth, Americans. Enjoy the few years of quasi-freedom we have left.
Police in Winnipeg , Canada admitted several years ago that the traffic cams and mobile enforcement vehicles aren’t all about safety and that they count on the dollars generated from them. Fines double in school zones and construction areas. The fines here aren’t enough to bankrupt anyone; just enough to really irritate you as it’s such a needless expense. You DO have to really watch the signs ,though. I’ve been ticketed twice and I consider myself a careful driver that follows the rules.
