I can appreciate the good parts of the Universe without seeing the need for a supreme being. Or even a creator. And that helps with the logic dissonance when bad things happen too.

The only plan god has is that he/she don’t exist.

God’s plan does a lotta heavy lifting for those parts of humanity who don’t want to take any responsibility for themselves. God’s plan NEVER includes the death of innocent children with an AR-15.

Saying it is god’s plan is easy, taking action is hard. God’s plan is a crutch.

Yep, WAY too many Christians practice a very crappy theology. Nonbelievers, believe it or not, there is actually a decent Christianity out there.

Proclaiming being a Christian doesn’t mean they practice it! What good is it to go to a service, leave and continue to be hateful, violent, vengeful, and intolerant?

I think in this context the author meant that the supreme being in this sense is the NRA. They used to teach gun safety, and had responsible leadership until the 70s when his Supremo —Wayne L. became obsessed with $$ and power by lobbying for no gun laws to his ultimate profit.thats the “Plan”

Our winner-take-all, mutually exclusive, binary, opposing party, duopoly has done a great job of virtually avoiding consensus/cooperation/compromise while successfully imposing obstruction to prevent rational non-emotional progress in strengthening our fragile liberal democracy. It’s hard to tell whether a rudderless/spineless liberal agenda is better than a pseudo-theocratic, heavy-handed but incompetent authoritarian agenda as neither benefits the majority view of the public or strengthens our nation.

I know more atheists that follow the teachings of Christ (largely inadvertently) better than the majority of Christians.

A Missile Strike Hits Shopping Center With 1,000 People Inside

KYIV, Ukraine — A shopping center in Ukraine’s central Poltava region was hit by a Russian missile strike on Monday afternoon, the Ukrainian authorities said.

Videos shot after the strike and posted online showed a fire raging as emergency workers frantically tried to extinguish the flame and civilians loaded the injured into ambulances near the railway station in the industrial city of Kremenchuk. Footage that appeared to be captured by people running for the exits showed them navigating a thick cloud of debris and dust as they clambered over broken windows, doors and crumbling walls.

The current thinking seems to be that to decrease gun violence it would be easier to cure human nature (ie eliminate all mental illness) rather than limit the number and types of guns. Same idea applies to unwanted pregnancies, let’s just stop people from having sex. Whether its God’s plan or the Universe’s it seems to be incompatible with right wing ideology.

An AR15 .223 round would have blown his head off.
