No question the police response in Uvalde was a total disaster. But the even bigger disaster is that we, the people, elect politicians more accountable to gun lobbies than to human lives. And then we, the people, praise these same politicians when they fund even greater fortifications for our schools while still allowing that same, emotionally challenged teenager (or anyone else for that matter) to buy an AR-15. Real gun safety won’t happen until people, rather than the NRA, are the priority.

To be accountable for human lives to respect the rights of others. When we fail to do so as a society the people of that society must be able to defend themselves. The supreme court today ruled against the state of NY that restricted the right to get a concealed carry permit. Those Children should have had protection of all types.

Texas Repubs want to focus on Trumpy lies about 2020 election, hate towards LGBTQ+ and promoting false patriotism while ignoring the warts in US history. For the last, cannot learn from mistakes if you refuse to acknowledge them.

Many poor children in the U.S. go to school without enough to eat. For years American conservatives have opposed such commonsense measures as providing free breakfasts and lunches for the poorest students.

Now there seem to be many on the right who want teachers to be armed. Is arming teachers more important than feeding hungry students?

“Teacher, I can’t concentrate when I haven’t had breakfast or lunch today”

“Sorry, Pupil, there is no food here. The Republicans sent us guns instead”

    “Yummy!”

We HAVE real gun laws. They are absurd, but they’re real.

SCOTUS just knocked a cavernous hole in potential for any decent — let alone good — firearms legislation for the foreseeable future. YEE-HAW!!!
