Ball/Strike calls seem to be even worse than usual this year. Some balls 5-6 inches out of the strike zone are called strike three!! The computerized strike zone, being test run in the minors this year, cannot come soon enough. Time to replace some big egos behind the plate.

I agree about the computerized strike zone. A home plate umpire is still needed for other calls, such as safe/out, catcher interference, etc.
