Eat it to save it. (… from a fate worse than death).

[Or to save it from a slow agonizing death]

It’s a sad day when a turtle has to use psychology on a vegetable just to eat something.

Hummmmm … Most food talks back after being eaten ;-)

Vegetables are meant to be loved and eaten.

We had to destroy the vegetables to save them.

If you left it in the ground it wouldn’t have had to die.

Yes! Way to go, Verne, use the old ‘reverse psychology’ ploy on those vegetables!

All life (almost) exists by consuming other living things. Sorry… that’s the way the (our) Universe is.

The carrot could insist on being set free. Maybe even replanted.
