Umpires still have to rub the mud onto the balls which makes an inconsistent product. I’m pretty much a traditionalist when it comes to baseball. I hate the three batter rule for relievers but do like the dh. I do think it is time for professional baseball to have a ball that is pitchable out of the box. I think in Japan they have this but I’m not sure.
