I know Independence Day is coming up, for you my American friends and have BBQ’s and on our Australia day, we have what we call during our Federal Election, a “Democracy Sausage”, which is a hot dog with onions and tomato sauce, sometimes either on a bun, or a slice of bread.
Has anyone ever tried, an Australian democracy sausage before ?
And finally, happy 4th of July, when it arrives, mate.
One of the first meals a girlfriend prepared for me was meatloaf & baked potatoes on the grill. Charcoal lit – check. Food on the grill – check. Cold drinks to help pass the time – check. One hour later, when we were ready to eat, the grill was cold, and the food wasn’t much warmer. She had forgotten to open the vents, and the fire had been snuffed out. Oh well, hamburgers and fried potatoes on the stove alleviated our hunger.
Just had a startling epiphany! Now I know why Jon Doesn’t Get It almost all the time. You know the phrase, “It’s as plain as the nose on your face,” right? Well, that’s it. Jon’s nose is so tiny it’s almost not there, so that’s why for him, pretty much nothing is clear or plain or obvious or even noticeable!

{face palm} how on Earth could Jon Arbuckle — the master chef — have forgotten the charcoal?
Wilde Bill almost 2 years ago
Yes, Jon, you really outdid yourself. You’re going to have to work really hard to screw-up as badly next year.
Macushlalondra almost 2 years ago
I’d suggest a crockpot but that would take too long. I guess you can put them in the oven.

Even if Jon did get charcoal, would he remember from last time that self-lighting charcoal does not light itself?

Just when it seemed that Jon finally did something right, he once again comes up short. I guess he’ll never succeed.

In Jon’s defense, he followed all the instructions from the cookbook by none other than Roz of Treetops.

It was a thing in the old 80’s cartoon that Jon was actuallya terrible cook, so he HAD to find some way to fail

A previous comic had the punchline of Jon not knowing how a door worked. And you want to know how he forgot the charcoal…
