So, Lisa thinks we’re driving off a cliff by going green. Most of the folks who are — reality oriented and expert in climate issues — think it’s the opposite: Any attempt to delay going green will hurt us exponentially, the longer we wait.
Lisa must really enjoy wild weather patterns, terrible and frequent tornadoes, deadly heat waves, rising sea levels and coastal erosion. What’s not to like?
I am and have always been very interested in cars – not just “faster is better”, but all technology involved. What is happening right now, today is nothing short of a revolution. Electric Vehicles are still to expensive for the general mass – but as with ALL technical changes the rich start and buy expensive stuff that promotes the next step in innovation and cost reduction (just look at flat TVs – the first 32"-ers were over $15k and they were the rich peoples bragging right). About 3 years from now the next generation of battery cell tech will become available to mass market with the aim of reduce size (energy density) and also reduce cost (less expensive exotic/rare minerals needed). The future is electric – does the US want to lead or be led (perhaps even be left behind?) in the transition? The petrol/diesel engine still have a place and need while the transition is happening. Personally I use HVO100 in my diesel engine mini van – 45 mpg burning oils extracted from waste products in the Finnish forest industry – not a dime to any dictator anywhere. Lisa Benson is sadly stuck with the sad side of greed – the corporations and wealthy persons who just want to reap – not sow – that is not the entrepreneurship that built America!
Biden and his handlers are going to wreck the US in part due to Biden’s myopic zeal to transition rapidly away from oil. Reminds me of the tragic departure from Afghanistan, another Biden fiasco that high school kids could have planned better.
While you’re busy flying through the air, Joe, you might pick up a few of those hitchhikers and give them a ride to work. They can’t afford to buy gas, doncha see?
Given the cost of gasoline, since big oil can’t let a little thing like a war hurt their profit margins, those electric cars are looking pretty good now, aren’t they? 8>)
Lisa is right when she suggests that our Green Agenda is going off a cliff. One of the few things that I am concerned about Biden is his lack of Green response to the environment. But, I know that he is hamstrung by an unwilling congress. So the US is dragging their heels on climate change issues compared to other countries that are making real change. Of course, most of these countries are the ones with universal healthcare which shows their concern for all of their nations needs. Whereas we worship at the capitalist altar plus division is often the name of the game. So, the nation’s needs get sidelined for the pursuit of power and wealth. Oddly enough, capitalism, our one true god, may yet be our savior. With more companies coming on board with EV’s and the major auto manufacturers touting their all EV models by the 2030’s, the EV, with its many cost advantages and real performance, may be our real contribution to, at least, slowing CO2 emissions.
We know gas and oil power everything. That INCLUDES the energy sources to which the people who control Joe Biden want us to switch. That leaves the big question:
“What excuse can possibly justify the decision to import a critical resource we desperately need, when we possess that same resource in abundance, along with the technology to extract it? Energy is a global market, obviously, and I’m not suggesting that we shouldn’t participate in that market if it’s in our interest to do so. But Venezuela? The mid-East? Russia? What possible reason can justify the decision to forego our energy independence?”
If only there was an institution that could demand our leaders answer that question honestly and hold the decision makers accountable. -Louder with Crowder
Lisa’s mindset is that of the typical American “conservative”. “MY life is quite comfortable and any attempt to make changes which do not benefit me directly today are a risk to my comfort.”
In my state at least (CA) there is always a pressure group against any of the proposed alternatives to energy production (that includes solar and wind to some extent) . All of the alternatives are also polluting to a greater or lesser extant. Due to opposition to new power lines, bringing in electricity from other areas with more dependable wind and sun, we are facing blackouts. Entrepreneurs (scammers in my opinion, since) they are pushing batteries and generators, but again production of those produce pollution and our governor has banned gas powered gardening equipment including gas/ hydrocarbon fueled devices such as generators. Of course, there is also the rest of the world in which many countries can not afford or will not move to alternate energy sources. IF the US is serious about alternatives to hydrocarbon energy sourcing, it needs a coherent plan that accounts for the people who at present have no alternative. The success of Tesla and the proliferation of roof top solar cells proves that people will voluntary move to low hydrocarbon sources of energy. As volume goes up, cost will go down. Almost all the houses in my neighborhood have roof top solar electricity cells ( I have both solar electricity and water heating and am considering back up batteries), but the electricity goes in to the grid and there is no provision for storage. Production is so high in CA that we pay AZ to take the excess. There is no provision for storage. Climate in most of the US is not suitable for either wind or solar power. There are other good options but the NIMBYES fight against those. Soo, the government’s plan to go green without addressing the other related issues is the hight of stupidity -- and - Lisa’s point is quite valid. PS — attacking Lisa personally says more about you that her and negates any comment that follows..
How did we get into the energy transition, economic, social, global, crime ridden mess that we are in? It starts from the top:
James Clapper: Obama Ordered Us To Start The Witch HuntByGregg Jarrett
James Clapper, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, told CNN’s Jim Sciutto that President Obama was the one who directed the deep state to “assemble all the reporting” about Russia meddling in the 2016 election. The admission that Obama himself ordered the start of the “Witch Hunt”, also known as the Russia probe, shows how the administration used its powers to try to develop and create a crime where one did not exist.
With Mr. Clapper openly saying that it was President Obama himself who ordered the powers of the deep state to be used against Donald Trump, along with the revelation that the Obama White House approved Hunter Biden’s job on the board of a Ukrainian gas company, everyone should be asking what other actions will be revealed when the Inspector General’s FISA abuse report comes out.
Will these parties that disregarded the laws and statutes that protect Americans be held to justice? Or will the deep state once again escape with merely a slap on the wrist?
Why is there zero coverage ON THE DURHAM TRIAL? There is little doubt that there are more trials to come.
Clinton Campaign Manager Drops ‘Bombshell’ Exposing Clinton And Media Mob’s Years-Long Russia Hoax
GREGG JARRETT: [Clinton] personally approved the scheme to peddle phony collusion information to the media, that dropped like a bombshell by her own campaign manager, Robby Mook. And it seemed so incredibly foolish for the defense of all people to have called Mook to the witness stand. It’s fundamental in trying cases, never call a witness to the stand. That only helps you a little bit because the downside of hurting you tremendously is quite severe. And sure enough, that’s what happened. I mean, Mook helped a little bit marginally by saying, well, we the campaign didn’t put up Sussman going to the FBI, to lie to them. What the campaign intended is irrelevant. What’s material is what Sussman’s intent was, and his intent has already been demonstrated by the evidence in the testimony. He put his lie to the FBI in writing. So now he’s only left with some rather vacuous defenses.
Sussmann Trial: Comey’s FBI Lied To Its Own Agents In Russia Hoax Cover-UpHillary and her acolytes created the greatest mass delusion in American political history…and perpetrated the dirtiest political trick ever.
As if the FBI’s gross misconduct couldn’t get any worse, we learned Monday in court that top bureau officials actively concealed from their own field agents that it was Hillary’s lawyer, defendant Michael Sussmann, who was peddling phony Trump-Russia collusion claims to the FBI.As Monday’s testimony showed, had agents been told that Hillary’s campaign lawyer was behind it they would have recognized it for what it was –a politically motivated smear and immediately discounted it as a lie.
Monday’s testimony also revealed that the FBI eventually concluded as early as January of 2017 –just as the new president was about to take office– that the so-called “Alfa-Bank secret back-channel communication” between Trump and the Kremlin was a hoax. Yet, Comey hid that critical information from Trump, congress, and the American people. As a consequence, the media kept up its false reporting in the same way it continued to flog the fabricated “dossier.”
Comey and others at the FBI like Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok knew that “dossier” funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign was a collection of exaggerations and made-up stories that originated from her own people. Comey could have told the truth and refuted all of the false media stories, but he didn’t. He and his acolytes exploited it as a pretense to escalate their investigation of Trump to drive him from office.
