Friends, it isn’t just the Russian war against Ukraine, but also the heat dome in Pakistan and India, the wildfires in Siberia, Australia, the Iberian peninsula and the North American West, the droughts in Africa and the US west, the flooding in portions of the US and Europe, and the razing of the Brazilian forest for cattle ranching. All this is lining up to be a perfect storm that will effect all of us. If the lack of water doesn’t get you, the floods will. I might also mention the hurricane season is looking to be fierce this year.
Just wait until the fall when the grains that would normally be harvested in Ukraine and Russia are not harvested and available. Foodstuffs are going to skyrocket like mad. Make whats going on now feel like the good old days I suspect.
Much of the Middle East and Africa depend much more heavily on them for their grains than we in the Americas do. I’m betting a famine in Africa that makes the 1980s look tame.
