Health authorities in Europe, the U.S. and Australia are investigating a recent outbreak of monkeypox cases, a rare viral disease typically found in Africa.Germany on Friday reported its first case of the virus, becoming the latest European country to identify an outbreak alongside the U.K., Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Sweden. In the U.K. alone, cases have doubled since the first was identified on May 7. The country now has 20 confirmed cases, though concerns are building that more may be going undetected.

Human-to-human transmission most commonly occurs through respiratory droplets, though usually requires prolonged face-to-face contact. Animal-to-human transmission meanwhile may occur via a bite or scratch.

The infection typically lasts two to four weeks and usually clears up on its own.

I made a wish on a monkey pox once. It didn’t turn out well.

Thing is, with COVID, no picture immediately sprang to mind. With monkey pox, however, it just SOUNDS nasty.

Monkey pox…much ado about nothing. Although I have the feeling that the WHO is rattling cages on the pandemic stage to justify its existence and expanded control over world affairs. Keep in mind that China has leashes on the WHO and for the most part controls their actions and decisions.

We’re back up to hundreds of thousands of new COVID cases each day (not even including those of us who self-tested). This ain’t over. Stop acting like it is.
