    What a surprise!

By the way, humans always seem to open bananas from the stem end. Like that stem is a handle. Take it from the apes and monkeys, it is much easier to peel a banana from the flower end.

There is a nest with a baby bird right outside my window. I listen to the news with sharp cheeps every minute or so. Mama’s out looking for dinner and baby is sending out homing beacons. If he evenly spaced them out it would be okay, but he cheeps randomly .

No, no, Chesney. No prize in bananas. Youi get prizes in Cracker Jack. And those prizes are lousy. They never were great, even when I was a kid, but they’re cheaper and far worse now than they were back then.

    Today is:

National May Ray Day. “If your name is Ray or May, this is your chance to use your name as a way to get outdoors and soak up some sun. After all, this spring holiday is all about getting out into the sunshine and soak up some rays. There are so many benefits of being in the sun, especially after a long winter. Our bodies need vitamins and minerals to maintain a healthy balance. Vitamin D is one of those vitamins we need for to maintain a healthy mind and body. Not only does it support bone health, it also lowers blood pressure, prevents disease and promotes strong mental health. There is also evidence healthy levels of Vitamin D in the body help reduce chances of getting cancer.”

My name is not Ray or May, but I do plan on getting outside a lot today, so I guess I’ll get some sun.

National Devil’s Food Cake Day. I was planning on baking chocolate brownies today, not cake.

Poor Ollie would be just as disappointed if he found a prize in cereal boxes. And where did he get the banana, from Annie’s lunch?

I can’t imagine any type of surprise in a banana would be a good thing.

We used to grow our own bananas when we lived in Brazil, but I wouldn’t go near the bananas until after they had been picked and separated and guaranteed surprise-free. Spiders. Nasty spiders.

No prize? Aw, darn! Still, it could be worse. At least he didn’t find a cockroach on the banana. On another note, saw four robins, three finches, and three red crossbills while out walking today.
