    Most sprinkler systems come on when there’s a fire. In this office, though, it apparently comes on at a specific time during working hours, but apparently only in this guy’s work area. His female colleague is dry, however, so she doesn’t need to know when it comes on for Wet Guy.

    Takes a dripping and completely stops ticking.

    Yes, kids, in the days before fire watches “ticked.” You could hear them. Really. And you had to wind them up each day, until they developed self-winding watches.
