I’ve got news for you, Goldie: You move in your sleep, too. (Okay, maybe not as much or as often as a People, but you do.)

I have a twin-size bed. It’s just the right size for me, but somehow Blossom would always end up pushing me against the wall. I still have no idea how she managed to take up so much space.

I remember once sleeping over at a friend’s house. In the middle of the night I woke up because I couldn’t turn over. The cat was on top of the blankets between my knees. Quite comfortably so, for him.

The trick is to go in tight on each side of the person. Then it’s harder for them to move.

My pug Cocoa always slept in my bed with me, and sometimes I’d wake up, roll my head to the side, and find him curled up next to my head with his butthole almost touching my face.

We finally had to put the big silver Tabby in the laundry room at night. He looked to sleep between your legs and would purr at 900 decibles. Either that or 3AM zoomies.s or he would pick a fight with his sister. Or play tag with her. The Tortie slept as far away from you as possible. I miss those two.

I’ve been around a looooong time and have seen chat rooms and comment sites get shut down because of inappropriate behavior when they get tired of policing the ones who disregard the rules.

My ex-husband and I had four cats who all slept with us while we were together. (I say with “us,” but it was mostly with me since I worked third and he worked second.) Rachael would be on my pillow – unless it was cold, then her head would be on the pillow, but her rear end would be under the blankets – Dusty would be on my feet, Ebony would be behind my legs, and Cuddles would be beside me with her head on my shoulder. Fortunately I don’t move much in my sleep, since rolling over was quite a production. My ex was only allowed to sleep on his side of the bed. If he crossed the imaginary line the cats had agreed on and came on our side, all four cats would smack him. He didn’t find it as funny as I did, for some reason…

    Your pillow’s mine

    Gonna tell you right

    Away your face

    From my hindside

    I’m telling you

    GO TO SLEEP! I beg

    Gonna hurl your mind

    Don’t move your leg!

    Come on, come on

Let me lay on it all right

    I’m kicking you

    On count of three

    To show you rough

    Or let it be

    I’m telling you

    Just watch your clock

    I know the time

    3:19 a.m., O shock!

Well they say cat’s sleep has no limit

And to us that’s not so true

But my friend you have seen nothin’

Just wait ’til the rabbit kicks get through

‘cause we’re in bed, in bed come on

    (Really all in bed)

You know we’re in bed, in bed you know it

    (Really all in bed)

It’s not that bad for me when my cat is sharing my room. But when it’s a dog night instead of a cat night – ugh! Suddenly, 8 pounds of dog becomes 8000 pounds of immovable object. And I don’t understand how he takes up the ENTIRE bed. It’s a queen sized bed! He’s a toy poodle!

Only one of ours sleeps with us, and he takes up enough room. I can’t imagine sharing a bed with four. We’d have to buy a king-size bed.

    The Humans are sleeping

    They both are sleeping

I had trouble sleeping last night too, so I went out and laid on the couch. I, of course, soon had three snugglers with me and fell asleep. At about 5:00 I heard a high-pitched voice in my ear say"Rriiing!" I turned and there was my panther Samantha sitting on the coffee table staring at me. In her almost 18 years she has many times been a self-appointed alarm clock, but I think this is the first time she has ever actually rung!

Loaner Cat just won’t get on the bed. I’ve set up a little step for her because she can’t jump well and she won’t use it. And if I put her on the bed, she won’t stay. She’ll sleep in my lap in the chair all day long, but no bed :(

    Why do cats suddenly appear

    Every time bedtime’s here?

Well, you see, they long to be

    Close to you

Why do cats lie on your eyes

    Like a warm lullaby?

    Truthfully, they long to be

    Asleep too

By the way, now you’ve been warned when kitties get together

And decide to make all of your dreams come true

They will hunker down atop your legs and rabbit kick until you’re black and blue

That is why all the cats we’ve found

Like to spread out all around

    Smother-y, they long to be

    Close to you

    Wa-aa-aa-aa-ah, close to you

    Wa-aa-aa-aa-ah, close to you

    Ha-aa-aa-aa-ah, close to you

    La-la-la-la-la, close to you

    - Burt Bacharach / Hal David – (They Long to Be) Close to You

What’s wrong with likes ? some comments older than 6 hours have only one like and some newer comments have more than 10 likes.

I wonder how it feels to have a cat sleeping over your head.

Albert A. Cat never slept with us in the bedroom, but he was more than happy to share his room (aka the tv/guest room) with anyone who wanted to use the daybed. If someone actually wanted to sleep, he liked to walk all over them, sit on them (all 18 pounds of him), and groom their face (particularly if a beard was present). If someone wanted to watch tv, he would curl up next to or on them, purr loudly, and fall asleep, guaranteeing that sleep would soon come to the Person.

I’m lucky. My girl Jez will sleep on the other side of my bed in catloaf position until I hit the snooze on my alarm, at which point she will start nosing at the covers in order to get under them for some snuggles.

I have a queen sized bed, and anyone with at least 2 cats know how much room they take up. When I go to bed, I tell them that they need to move because “the big cat is coming to bed”.

My wife sleeps in a reclining position and our Russel liked (note past tense) to sleep on the pillow above her head. One night, my wife sneezed in her sleep, which startled him, which startled her, which caused him to loose his footing. While trying to regain it, he caught my wife just above the eye, slipped and gave her a slice from just above her eyebrow, down her cheek to her upper lip. Thankfully, she only has a very small scar in her eyebrow to mark the occasion. Russel, however after that fiasco and trashing her nightstand, and dumping her water, several times whilst trying to get on the bed, has been permanently banned from the boudoir. He now has a $250 cat tower, which he mostly avoids, preferring to repose either on my model bench, my stool or in or on top of my 1 meter R/C sailboats. Occasionally he’ll drape himself 8ft up on the metal spiral stair leading to my daughter’s room. Much to her annoyance.

There are few bed companions worse than a cat with restless leg syndrome. :)

I’ve always had king-size beds on the floor to leave plenty of room for cats. However, my current generation of cats will only sleep on the bed a couple of times a year. Go figure.
