That’s the problem with fast moving technology, it doesn’t age well, making reruns of this arc especially confusing to anyone under 30ish.

At this point, I was wondering why they married if she is so inconsiderate to Mike between letting him be insulted at their wedding and hiring such a jerk regardless of how skilled he is.

My second Mac was a Quadra 610. That was after the original all-in-one Mac. Both were great machines for their time. Now I have a MacBook Air and an iPad.

First computer I had access to at home after college was a super-fast 33MHz. two years later I custom-built a computer I thought would be “future-proof” at a blazing 400MHz.

Two years after that, the 1-GHz models went on sale and by then the internet wouldn’t load properly on my ancient dinosaur…

Kim looks like a better match with Trent that she does with Mike. Love the off the shoulder look, Kim. Looks wise you rock. You need to work on “thoughtfulness”.

When I got started in programming in the early 70s, women made up about 40% of the workforce. As for why that’s changed so, some of it is the ’boy’s club’ aspect, but I think a lot more of it is that back then IT (or DP, as it was called then) was one of the few areas where women could make decent money and entry was unregulated by licensing and such. Now, women have much easier access into professions like law and medicine, not to mention general management. I think the reason there aren’t that many women in IT is that they have what they consider to be better options. At least when I was in the bit biz, most of the men were there because they couldn’t do much of anything else, certainly that paid that well.

I would set him up with an abacus, a table fan, two tin cans and a string and a pencil, while finding a replacement graphics guy. :)

In the early to mid-1990’s digital lines were T1’s or the dreaded ISDN service. Very expensive.

to be fair, Quadras DID suck most specifically, and my mom had a Performa that she was gouged for by Apple for a machine that barely performed.

Air conditioners were unnecessary luxuries in Seattle, in 1997 anyway.

Programmers didn’t work on Macs back then.
