GOP ‘groomer’ smears are sparking a new wave of anti-LGBT+ violence
As American conservatives wield baseless accusations of ‘grooming’ against political opponents, trans and gay people say they have been harassed or attacked by strangers shouting the same words, Io Dodds and Alex Woodward report
I guess people can pray for peace In the hope that this time it might work. But I think the Ukrainians are more in the praise the lord and pass the ammunition mode.
Very nice, Lisa. Been sending prayers to accompany all the equipment we’re sending to the brave Ukrainians if their fight against the Russian Orcs. Note the anti religious, atheist, left with their typical nasty comments.
Good Friday is a day when Christians remember Jesus Christ’s death on the cross — his execution upon an instrument of state torture.
It is also a powerful reminder of how dangerous it is for society when authoritarian politicians and corrupt religious leaders conspire for power and dominion.
Good Friday’s warning resonates deeply even now, nearly 2,000 years after Jesus’ death. That’s because the relationship between the religious authorities of Christ’s time and the brutal Roman governor who ordered his execution, Pontius Pilate, is little different from the Christian nationalist bond that exists between today’s Republican Party and conservative American Christianity.
This is what I cannot understand about religious people. Do you believe that if you pray to your god, it/he/she will somehow intervene? And this god will do what? And if this god can do this, why ‘allow’ the war, with the devastation, suffering and agony amongst millions of innocent people in the first place? Also, do you genuinely believe that thinking words in your head somehow connects with an entity that, supposedly, created the ENTIRE universe, where stars like our sun, are exploding every second, and this god will go… ’thanks for that, let me see what I can do."Bewildering.

You can pray or actually do something. “Praying takes no effort, I’ll go with that one.”

While we’re at it, let’s include Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Syria, Iran…..
Interesting that those places don’t rate the same concern, and never seemed to. What does that say?
