There is some truth on both sides of that conversation.. Reunions can be fun. I’ve been to a few, but by no means all. There have probably been one or two I didn’t even know about. And that’s fine. I still see and am close friends with most of my good friends from HS. For the reunion, there are many folks there that I appreciate catching up with, but they have their lives too. Few of us still look the same, but some folks are always going to be recognizable. By now, approaching 50 years, there is unfortunately a growing list of casualties.
I graduated in 1971. I went to a reunion in 1972. The school was so small they had a reunion for everyone every three years. There were only 16 in my class.
I graduated in ‘79 and I don’t think my class ever had a single reunion. Oh, well…I didn’t like it the first time around, I certainly would not have gone back for seconds.
Even though I was the senior class secretary I did not attend the 5 yr reunion because the student pictured next to me in the year book was drafted into the US Army and was killed 4 months later in Viet Nam. So many of my male classmates were killed in VN or succumbed to injuries after the conflict.

I would rather double my weight than go to a reunion.

My class reunion would also be my husband’s class reunion. Neither of us are interested in going.

Living 3000 miles from my schools, I never got invited to one.
