Not the first time Jon has tried this – I recall one strip where He was wearing a giant pair of shades, apparently under the logic of the bigger the shades, the cooler they make you. (Garfield: “There ain’t a pair big enough, pal.”) And another strip where Jon tried going recursive. (“I’m so cool, my shades are wearing shades!”)

He knows it’s a picture of his mum. The reason he looks at it is because she’s the only person who would consider him cool.

As least, he isn’t wearing them at night in a dark restaurant like “cool” celebs I won’t name always do…

That looks like a mirror to me. It doesn’t look like a picture of Jon’s Mom.

They look like the ones I got after cataract surgery.

Jon couldn’t be cool even if he were in the Antarctic.

Anyone else wondering why he couldn’t tell the difference between his reflection and a picture of his mother?

A picture of his mother may look a lot cooler now than Jon himself.

Are you sure about that, Garfield? It certainly looks like a mirror to me, because I don’t see anything that looks like a picture. Unless the light is reflected in a way that blocks the picture.

Probably the funniest Garfield comic ever.

I suffer from both myopia and astigmatism but I’m pretty sure that I can make the distinction from mirror and picture of my mother from close range.

I have two thousand and thirteen pages of pinned comic strips.

Nothing’s cooler than your mom!!

Sunglasses protect the eyes from glare and too much light, prescription glasses adjust vision, the former make you LOOK cool, the latter make you LOOK brainy.
