When has saying to someone to “calm down” or “cheer up” ever worked? (except in reverse)

Odie’s tail doubles as a fan.

“Don’t worry, be happy”?

Just put a pleasant face on and do it.

That is Odie’s game face. One mean and the other nice.

I wish managing the attitudes of human’s was that easy!

The happy growl… even more sinister since the face and growl give two different meanings.

There was another strip similar to this where Garfield was depressed while saying “Life stinks”, then Jon comes up to him while telling him that he should have a positive attitude, which prompted Garfield to smile while repeating his statement.

I’ve been told you can’t always go by a wagging tail. Learned that as a child; the hard way.

Jim davis should make a school one
