The comment “I so want him” sounds like Stef. OMGosh. Stef of course has never seen Puddles (and wouldn’t care if she did know him) Tiffany might know of Puddles but I don’t think she has ever seen him. Nor has Bets, but Gunther would have. And might bring him back, But I’m am so sick of this pet-in-peril plot that I want it ended now,

Unless Luann fell asleep on the bench, this is still a strange reaction from Frank – unless he knows exactly who it was driving off with Puddles and is just pulling his daughter’s chain.

I’m so tired of this depressing arc, I wish someone would go and take all of Greg’s drawing tools, then he could worry about them just like Luann.

Now, both Frank and Luann are being played as dummies.

Tif would have brought Puddles back by now. Bets i say no. Dez nope. I said Stef from the beginning.

I guessed Viper in Ivlax’ poll above but on second thought could it be Dez? She looks a bit older than the other kids and Frank does not know her (which probably eliminates Tiff) and just said she had Puddles on her lap. We don’t know where the new quad room is, at least I do not think the hall has been mentioned perhaps it is in Hall B….. This does seem to eliminate Ann Eifel.

This is a terrifying story arc…lost dogs aren’t funny!

20 years of babying Luann, and all Frank and Nancy have to show for it is an overgrown baby.

Some above have mentioned Stef, but if it was her, would Frank not have noticed her cheerleader getup she wears 99.9% of the time?

Some people finding a pet that got loose conclude he wasn’t being cared for. Not necessarily true at all.

Dorms allow pets?

Well, I was completely wrong with my guesses as to who picked up Puddles. It wasn’t Frank or Mrs. Gray. Hmmmmm …..?

Well, Wednesday.was the middle day in the arc the setup day, today is the subject of the setup, tomorrow? Who wants Puddles so. much? And where does that go?

Luann, i’m sorry to be so cold but you brought this on yourself. If you were watching puddles, like you were supposed to, this wouldn’t have happened.

Stefi Bird has Puddles???!!! Tiffany, DO SOMETHING!!! Poor Puddles will die if he becomes a “Pocket dog”! Maybe Stef didn’t find him, in this case let’s hope Tiffany or Dez see the lil dog and call Luann, even if Tiffany’s past with Puddles hasn’t exactly always been good.

Maybe Luann will get a new pet out of this. How ‘bout a hamster? Y’wanna hamster?

This story line has made me HATE Frank DeGroot!!

Frank has a point. They keep Luann around…. She’s also an annoying, lazy, chubby little mutt.

I went back and looked at the strip when Puddles was picked up. Now I’m getting the impression … (geeze, I’m getting lots of “impressions” with this particular arc :-) ) that it may be Dez that picked up the pup. (???)

Time to end the suspense. The answer is “none of the above.” Actually, I now have Puddles, and I’m keeping him. His new name is Lionel, because he’s pretty Messi.

Poor Luann. Her little doggy is lost and scared, and she has no idea where he is. Frank and Nancy should stop with this false hope and actually help Luann find him.

well you three, why haven’t you at least taken some of the obvious steps???…. like give a description of the car to authorities and place calls to all friends to say that Puds is missing and give a description; put up signs with a picture in public places. Gah…… turn your grief into action.

NOT FRANK !!!!!!!!!!

Someone needs to point out to Mr. Degroot that Puddles has no collar/tags on him. Technically, he could be 1,000 miles away by now. We had a high profile lost dog in my neighborhood about a year ago. It got a lot of news coverage, and hundreds of lost dog posters up all over the place. 12 months later – the posters are still up, and the dog is still gone.

Dez took her. Go back to see those hands when she picks up Puddles. Also, Puddles was happy which fits Dez, and we know Dez is likely to take in a poor lost dog.

OH NO!!! Stef has him! I hope Tiff recognizes him and gets him back to Luann!

What is the point of this story line? Pointing out how irresponsible Luann is ?

Not to hi-jack , Ivlax’s post from above, but My thought on who has Puddles.

I’m hoping for someone brand new finding Puddles. A new female character, one that isn’t a caricature this time around. Unfortunately, new characters seem to be taboo in this Strip of late. Particularly characters We can actually see.

As for the established characters?

Bets – I hope it isn’t Bets, and she puts up a fight with Luann over ownership of Pud. That will draw in Gunther who’ll be forced to take sides. And he KNOWS Pud belongs to Luann. Besides, fans don’t need any more reasons to dislike Bets.

Tiffany – Can’t see Tiffany picking up a stray dog. The question is, does she know Puddles belong to Luann? OTOH a confrontation would put Tiff back in Luann’s orbit again. The big question is, would it put them at odds again?

Dez – Best case scenario. Pud would be in good hands, until either Bernice or Gunther recognizes Pud as belonging to Luann.

Stef – WORSE case scenario. She’ll put up a fight over Pud. The good news is that suddenly Luann and Tiffany may become allies over it.

So.

Who has Puddles?

And who, (Bernice or Gunther) will recognize that Puddles actually belongs to Luann?

I’m just hoping that “I so want him” is more innocent than where my thoughts are going.

Luann should visit the Drabble strip and take Norman’s dog Wally. That way she gets a dog, mystery Moony Uni person gets a dog, Norman gets a girlfriend and everyone wins.

Well, so much for “Frank took Puddles to teach Luann a lesson!”

Hmm…Is this Greg’s opportunity to introduce a new character to the strip?

You can’t keep a dog in a dorm!

How do you lose your dog twice in 2 days? Was the first time a trial run for the real thing?

I’m sorry, but IMO anyone who finds a lost/stray animal, dog or cat, and makes ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT to find the animal’s owner, is no better than a thief. Especially if that animal is as healthy and well-fed as Puddles seems to be. The person who picked him up would have to realize (unless they are completely brainless) that this dog has an owner, and also that the dog has not been “lost” for very long. He’s not dirty or flea-ridden, and he certainly doesn’t look starved.

The first step would be to see if the animal is microchipped. Failing that, they could, as someone here suggested the other day, post pictures and the circumstances of where and when the animal was found on some sort of social media site. The “finder” could also make “found dog” posters with pictures and info, and put them up around town. I’ve seen such posters in the vet’s office where I take my cats.

So if whoever picked up Puddles makes no effort to find his owner, then they just as good as stole the dog.

Seems reality hit Luann with tears. As for who has him, it sounds like Steffi, but… it could either be someone who doesn’t know him or someone who does and realizes they need to give him back to Luann. :-o

Another example of Karen Evans’ being totally unqualified for this job. Now she is promoting people stealing lost pets. What a complete and total moron. Seriously, is she mentally impaired? What responsible adult, when given a stage to reach millions and influence young people, would encourage such ignorant behaviors? Either Greg doesn’t care or he’s on board with this type of story, and that is very sad.

It can’t be Tiffany because Frank would’ve recognized him. My guess is Dez because Stef and Bets are both \skinny.

So many dumb, stupid people out there including Luann, who don’t do the right steps to ensure their pets safety. This could have bee prevented.

A dog of his stature will stand out.

Dez dognapped him, showed him to Stef who then squealed she wants to keep him. Bets puts him on her website, Luann see him and reclaims him. Tiffany then streaks in front of Gunther because that’s what she does.

The only person who so far has taken action on the matter is Jack. I can’t believe Nancy is comforting Luann by telling her that Puds will be back; she’s no more realistic than Luann. Frank, who actually has a little information, is no better; he just sits there and cracks jokes.

Just wait till Puds pees and takes dump in someone’s dorm room. whoever “so wants him” may change her mind.

You can’t possibly keep dogs in dorms. Must be against rules. You can’t even have pets in most apartment rentals.

Clue: The person who picked up Pug has a driver’s license and a red car. Which or the dorm girls do???

It looks like Stef has Puddles. Now Tiffany won’t be the only one angry with Stef. Luann will be, too!

What are the clues? 1. the dognapper has a car. 2. the napper is a female 3.she goes to Moony 4. She brings puddles to the dorm and someone at Moony wants him 4. Frank doesn’t seem that bothered by it so he may have recognized the person It’s unlikely that Greg will add a new character to the Luann universe, so, logically, here’s what’s going on: Dez picked up the pooch, Steph wants him. Tiff will recognize him and he’ll be home sometime this week.

I think the person that found him does not know he belongs to the DeGroots.

Hey Frank, you know who else that describes!?

This is a particularly strange arc for me. Several facets are odd:

1. Frank’s behavior is to me seemingly out of character. Even though his words today are a little bit less negative, I have found it rather surprising that he is in many ways speaking rather negatively about Puddles…. a family pet, that I believe Frank would have typically been extremely fond of himself. Yesterday in particular, his words felt rather harsh. Today, he may be “joshing” a bit more with his comments to try to cajole/comfort Luann…. but even today much of what he suggests is a bit on the negative side.

2. The apparently “male-typical” arm girth in the images of the person reaching down to pick up Puddles contrasts oddly with Frank’s assertion the car he saw Puddles in was driven by a female (whom he did not know). The only potential reconciliations I can imagine between these two dichotomies would be a) the finder/driver might be Dez…. who has been shown in the past with a slightly larger than average arm girth for a female character drawn by Greg, b) some male picked up Puddles and put Puddles in a female’s car (this may suggest Kip and Steph potentially, but a second person (Kip) was not noticed in the vehicle so that seems odd in itself, or c) like several suggested yesterday, perhaps Frank himself found Puddles…. but the elaborate lie he would then be weaving…. and the depositing of Puddles in the Moony dorm….. do not really make much logical sense either.

3. In this fairly traumatic event for Luann…. Jack was there with her…. but now he is nowhere in the story. That also seems a bit odd, for it would seem that given the circumstances, Jack would have seemed more likely to have gone with Luann to her home because she was worried/concerned… or at least nervous.

I am really not seeing a route at the moment, for the disparate components of this story arc to gel. Obviously, I suspect Greg does have some route in his mind, but it alludes me.

I think we’re going to be introduced to a whole new character.

Apparently I am the only one here who wants to slap Luan upside the head for once again being so immature and self absorbed that she didn’t once think to keep an eye on her dog at the dog park

Let me revert to normal. Tiff picks up Puddles, figures he needs a bath, so she takes him into the shower with her. Puddles bolts and Tiff streaks after him through the dorm. Everyone is happy.

B. With Tiffany at Moony University

I have a bad feeling about this.

Totally thought Frank knew Pud’s whereabouts. That he doesn’t, and is acting like a jerk about the family dog missing, is really horrible. Is this a family of fools? I cannot see Steffi wanting a dog – or if she does, it’ll be short lived once she has to do poopy scooping. And that was a thick arm reaching out to Puddles. I’ve said it several times, G&K have problems pacing a strip. There is suspense, and there is annoying.

My wild guess. Stef has the dog and is showing him to Kip. Kip has the dog checked for a chip. When Kip returns dog to Luann – their hands touch – sparks fly – romance begins – oh my.

For now, it seems, The Dog Formerly Known as Puddles live in Moony U’s Dorm B with some human, probably female, who says “I so want him!!” (Yes, 2 exclamation points.)

Speculation is rife as to who the pup’s possessor may be. How long will this last?

Who has Puddles? I’ll give you only three clues using very few words:

1. Wide smile, hairbow

2. Social media addict

3. Natural aura

This whole storyline makes my stomach hurt. My dog was hit by a car a foot from my driveway. The driver left him to die. He was the greatest dog in the whole world.
