Somehow, I doubt that Rogan knows or cares. And “Spotify” isn’t a person, despite the insane ruling by SCOTUS that corporations are people.

Joni Mitchell also left Spotify. I hope several other artists join in and makes Spotify lose more money than ‘Dr. Rogan’ makes for them.

Neil Young was protesting the fact that Spotify hosts the Joe Rogan anti-vax podcast. He told them it was either him or Rogan and Spotify went with anti-vaxxer Rogan.

An aspect of the story that has gotten not nearly enough reporting explains why Neil Young feels so strongly about vaccines.

In 1952, at the age of seven, Neil Young contracted a severe case of polio (four years before the vaccine came out). Obviously he survived, but the thought of how his childhood pain could have been eased if the polio vaccine had come just a few years earlier haunts him.

The idea that someone would be discouraging people to get inoculated against a new life-threatening virus absolutely disgusts his sense of decency.

Now he has been joined by Joni Mitchell, who is also having her songs removed from Spotify, and hopefully the many other classic rock icons whose songs she wrote will soon follow soon.

Hopefully the media careers of Spotify and Joe Rogan will be brought down by their anti-science campaign to kill people with a deadly plague.

I have Maus, bought it when it first came out. Made sure a copy was available in my school library. Sent a copy to my young grandnephew and as soon as my grandniece is old enough she’ll wind up with my copy. It’s an award winner and a good way to educate kids about what happened when stupid people elected evil people into office. Evil and hate must never have access to power or you get the horror that was the Holocaust.

Snowflakes get upset because they can’t rub out the history of their heroes rubbing out millions of human beings, and they want “alternative views.” Boo freaking hoo. What kind of alternative views can there be to “Those a-holes you want to emulate tried committing genocide and damned near got away with it”? Let’s see the trolls defend that one, like Cruz defended parents giving Nazi salutes and snowflakes who are comparing wearing a mask simply to be a decent and respectful fellow citizen to wearing a yellow star and having your business destroyed and both you and your children’s lives threatened – and then taken. Do they ever say this stuff out loud to themselves and listen to what they sound like before they open their mouths in public and prove what kind of hate-filled, fear mongering idiots they really are at heart? (We all now know for certain that Moscow Mitch doesn’t do that simple little reality check now, don’t we?)

The books are just a symbol of the trust, self-respect, dignity, honor, and truth that are being burned by the unrealistic fatalists/defeatists who feel “left behind” … unwilling to look at themselves and accept that they are a shrinking minority without a significant future unless they embrace change.

Apparently, Spotify is getting lots of blowback from customers who are dropping the service. Not sure if it’ll make a difference, but it’s still something

Jones apparently doesn’t know Spotify lost over 4 Billion in revenue in the last week. Although Rogan might be pleasuring himself over their decision, I doubt the CEO of Spotify is.

It appears that the thing or bot that wants itself to be known as a symbol mostly used by Meal Team Six and the other overweight and under-washed mall ninjas is still coming out as FluKluxKlan and can’t think, especially about how people trying to stop lies and other disinformation about major health issues should ever come before corporate profits.

A show of hands, how many have read ’’Maus’’?

I have and recommend it to anyone who’ll listen.

It’s a much better choice, than forcing kids to read ‘’Silas Marner’’.

Actually, I’ve read both “Maus” AND “Silas Marner”…..I just finished readig “The Betrothed” which is about (among other things) the plague in Milan in 1630 and the irrational behavior of many people in responding to it. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

I can’t wait for disgraced duo of Michael Flynn and the My Pillow guy to chime in on all of this. I’ll bet it will have something to do with the radical left pre-stealing the 2024 election from Rump and nominating a woman of color to the SC to take all the rights of white men away. Another “normal” day magaville.

‘Maus’ is an Amazon bestseller after Tennessee school ban – author Art Spiegelman compares board to Putin

“Maus,” the decades-old graphic novel about the effects of the Holocaust on a family, became an Amazon bestseller in recent days.

The interest in “Maus” was part of a backlash to news that the McMinn County, Tennessee, school board banned the book from its eighth-grade curriculum.

“Maus” author Art Spiegelman compared the board to Russia President Vladimir Putin, whose own ban of the book led to a surge in sales.

The only books burned by the federal govt were Willhelm Reich’s books on psychology and health.

Anti-Constitutional Activities and Abuse of Police Power by theU.S. Food and Drug Administration and other Federal Agencies

    http://www.orgonelab.org/fda.htm

Charged with contempt in 1956 for having violated the injunction, Reich was sentenced to two years imprisonment, and that summer over six tons of his publications were burned by order of the court. He died in prison of heart failure just over a year later, days before he was due to apply for parole.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Reich#:~:text=Charged%20with%20contempt%20in%201956%20for%20having%20violated,before%20he%20was%20due%20to%20apply%20for%20parole.

Dr Reich escaped the Nazis only to be persecuted by the USA.

Can I recommend a novel, just written?

‘’A Man, A Plan, A Panda’’ and yes, I’m the author.

It has everything! War romance, steamy sex scenes, broken hearts and flat tyres on a dark and stormy night.

It’s 300 pages and for the MAGA guys, lots and lots of color pictures.

Look for the book with the cute Panda on the cover.

Spotify loses billions in market value after Neil Young pulls music

Spotify lost billions in market value after Neil Young pulled his music catalog from the streaming giant over his concerns that podcaster Joe Rogan was spreading COVID-19 misinformation.

Shares of Spotify were $172.98 at market close Friday, down 12% from $195.53 at the close of trading last week before the controversy began, after reaching a 19-month low on Thursday amid trending social media campaigns to cancel subscriptions to the streaming platform.

Maybe I should mention that Neil Young is a Scorpio.

as always, (๑❛ᴗ❛๑) is lying when he says that neil young was trying to censor rogan. in the real world, neil stated clearly (and the statement is on his website and in several news stories that i’ve read) that he believed in free speech, wasn’t asking for anyone to be censored, and was taking an income hit by pulling his music because he disagreed with spotify endorsing someone who was spreading lies that kill people…

why is it that our local RNWJs think that they can lie with impunity…?

Some say it’s the era of sedition

Our way of life turning upside down

Old ideas put out on exhibition

Like criminals paraded through the town

    You can turn with me

    We can face this foe

    Wherever you go

    Whatever you do

We win when you and I

    Stand tall

    Stand tall for earth

    Long may our planet live

    Together we can win

As long as you and I

    Stand tall

The boy king don’t believe in science

It goes against the big money truth

His playpen is full of deniers

They’ll flush our future down the tubes

    Don’t you get me wrong

’Cause we got to be strong

    Wherever we go

    Whatever we do

We win when you and I

    Stand tall.

    Stand Tall, Neil young

fascistic having or relating to extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practices

some commenters need to spend a bit of time polishing their vocabulary (in a perhaps vain effort to sound less obtuse)…
