“After losing the 2020 election, former President Trump considered deploying the National Guard to confiscate voting machines," a draft executive order reveals.
The Trump campaign also installed fake electors in seven swing states under the direction of Rudy Giuliani.” Yes, this was an attempted coup. People in very high positions of government authored this and approved of it, engineered it, and elected officials were prepared to follow through. Trump is just one wanna-be autocrat, the republicans are a whole party of them.
And let’s not forget Trump’s attorney who drafted a memo with bullet points on how to prevent the peaceful transition of power or basically a coup for dummies. And incitement of violence, “Fight like hell," the hobbling of law enforcement. How many federal laws did these guys break?
Jan. 6th should have ended with Trump and co-conspirators in cuffs and all the insurrectionists surrounded and shot or arrested.
Round them up now, because they sure as hell will try it again. DeathSantis already learned from it when he runs…they’re now talking about election police…not the first time Florida had election police, except they used to be called the Klan.
I’m a moderate, not left, but I don’t like dishonesty from any quadrant. And your LIE that “the left wants to require I.D. and proof of vaccination to eat at a restaurant but doesn’t want any sort of voter I.D” is more than merely dishonest. It is stupid and pathetic.
Once again, yet again: as ALL intelligent people know, deliberate voter fraud is incredibly rare. That’s only one of many excuses the people who favor voter suppression use, of course. (Plenty of methods, also, including outdated ones like the poll tax—which Death Sentence might well wish to see make a comeback.) Question: if Death Sentence is betraying the United States ideal of “one person, one vote”, is he also betraying the United States? Discuss amongst yourselves.
artegal: Because in case after case and audit after audit (run by Trumpublicans) there was no proof of significant illegal voting (just a small number of honest mistakes), and most of the cases of actual fraud discovered were committed by Trumpublicans; my sentence, being based on facts, did not need your “fixing,” thank you very much. Democrats want every American citizen to be able to easily vote. Trumpublicans are writing laws to make it difficult for people who are unlikely to vote Republican to vote. The biggest problem with this new of legislation is that it’s designed to allow voting laws to be differentially enforced by the “right” (i.e., Republican) people against people of color. And you know it’s true, so don’t bother to get all outraged.
Continuing your dishonest idiocy, I see. Look: the people trying (and in many cases succeeding) in voter suppression KNOW that elderly people, and Blacks and other minorities are less able to have the proper documentation (for many reasons) to get the kind of ID that has had its requirements tightened up in order to keep likely Democratic voters from voting. The requirements were tightened up based on the Big Lie of voter fraud—but of course, the voter suppression people also do things like purge the rolls of legitimate voters for spurious (and dishonest) reasons. When Republicans accidentally tell the truth, and admit that in a large turnout election of legitimate voters, they can’t win the election, is it any wonder that they turn to all the forms of voter suppression (including long long lines in minority precincts, purges of rolls, and of course the attempt to exclude the elderly and Blacks from voting. As conservative icon George Will correctly called them, Senators Cruz and Hawley are the Seditionist Senators. But they know full well that the 2020 election was free, fair, honest, and legitimate. (Only imbeciles and lunatics DON’T know this.) Yet, the Big Lie is an excuse to suppress the votes in one state after another.

I can easily imagine people getting arrested while standing in line to vote. On suspicion of something, or on [wait for it] Trumped up charges.

Does anyone else wonder why the left wants to require I.D. and proof of vaccination to eat at a restaurant but doesn’t want any sort of voter I.D?

Most of the deliberate voter fraud I’ve seen is perpetrated by members of the GOP.
