Isn’t there no supply chain problems now?

If Mayor Pete couldn’t fix the roads, what makes anyone think that he can fix the supply chain? Maybe if he wasn’t one maternity leave all the time then there wouldn’t be that many problems.

Hey, it’s the market! Give capitalism some time, and forget the problem came from crony capitalism of the corporate state.

I’m sure Mr. Varvel has an excellent solution to the problem but is loathe to share it!! In the meantime the govt has opened up truck driving across state lines to 18 year olds to alleviate the problem. Now, Mr. Varvel may say they are too young to drive anywhere but in uniform over IEDs. Just a thought.

Sick people can’t work, and the supply chain breaks. The virus doesn’t care if it inconveniences us.

I know this is just anecdotal but personally I’ve experienced no particular inconvenience or problems due to supply chain dysfunction. Maybe I don’t consume enough.

Whatever it takes.. republicans are loathe to make permanent fixes unless they can take full credit.

Once again supply chain troubles are world wide. Biden’s not to blame for that.

Varvel wants the supply chain fixed fast and when Pete applies quick, temporary fixes, Varvel whines about it. He’d bitch about a sunny day if he thought the Democrats had something to do with it. What a simp.

Corporations don’t want it fixed. Gives them a reason to price gouge.

Am I missing something here? Has Secretary Pete Buttigieg been promoted to czar?

Perhaps Varvel thinks Supply Chain ‘issues’ should magically disappear, just like the COVID 19-Denier-in-Chief said the virus would….

Hey, remember the buzz on all the news stations? You know, the one where “the most wanted toys” would not be available due to supply shortages? If that prognostication came true, I missed it. I also missed the big stories about merchants who complained about holiday sales being reduced because of supply chain issues.

I’m not saying the problem doesn’t exist. I’m saying it’s not a crisis. This, too, shall pass.

In my neck of the woods, the only stuff in short (not zero) supply is frozen junk food: burritos, corn dogs, potatoes of all varieties. If anything, maybe people will be forced to learn how to cook real food.

The sillier the cartoons are, the more it says to me these anti-democratic conservatives are panicked… patriarchy is swirling down the drain.

Trump / Repubs gave massive corporate tax cuts in 2017 and companies bought back stock just like their CEOs said they would. Because interest rates were low, they borrowed mire money to buy back more stock. Heated up the stock market, which Trump falsely claimed was showing that the economy was doing great. When corporate tax rates were higher, execs invested in the company and their employees to bring down their tax liability.

So companies had no reserves, owned their own stock rather than having investors and when Covid hit, there was no inventive for them to continue to buy supplies since demand was down. The short-term thinking of corporate execs, Repubs and Trump have caused income inequality, instability and now the supply chain problems.
