Sadie and I had no children – we couldn’t. When I heard the clown-in-a-dress say that couples not opting for children were acting selfishly I thought:

“Putz” is Yiddish for, in part: “False believer in one’s own super specialness” – somewhat akin to another “Stable Genius” I could name, but every time I mention it I spit on my monitor and then I have to clean it.
Joel makes pretty much every point I wanted to make… and I hadn’t even thought of the “goldfish” one, though now I can’t unthink of it.
PS: Our cat won’t take care of us when we’re old, but then, we DO have some kids… and they very likely won’t either… At least most of them. I’m hanging my hope for that on one of the grandkids…
When the RCC stops its institutional pedophilia and hands the perpetrators and aiders and abettors over to the police and turns its tons of gold into money and gives it all away to help the poor, then maybe I’ll have something positive to say about them.
This pope, while an improvement over the previous ones sine John XXIII, simply cannot dump the trace of Manichean Dualism that Saint Augustine kept. We have brains to use to prevent overpopulation. Remove the “mortal sin” on birth control and manustupration. Stop putting us bachelors down. We don’t want kids nor marriage. I can’t even afford a pet with what I earn.
