My son was a Registered Nurse. In November of last year, he was working in the covid ward. He said somebody had to do it. This was before any shots were available, so masks were the only protection. He got covid. It only lasted about 10 days, but it left blood clots in his lungs and damaged most of his internal organs. Two months after he no longer had covid, he was still unable to sit up on his own. He struggled through physical therapy, and finally the first of May, he was able to go home, and go to physical therapy in his car. He couldn’t walk without a walker, but he managed to do quite a lot, and he got a lot of enjoyment out of just driving around and seeing what was new. In early August, he had flu like symptoms, and got to the doctor immediately. It wasn’t a new case of covid, and the symptoms seemed pretty easy to handle with Tylenol. He called me at 4:30 to let me know that he was fine and he’d talk to me tomorrow. At 8:30, he called his brother who lives near him to take him to the emergency room, six blocks from his house. He died on the way. His body was just too weak to manage, and his heart gave out. He was 56 years old. The statistics will say he didn’t die of covid.

sigh. If people don’t wish to be vaccinated, then they will live with any consequences. If you don’t like what they do, stay away from them. Don’t associate with them. Don’t join their super-spreader events. We are vaccinated, even though we got covid-19 in early 2020, before it was a media staple. It was nasty, and produced ongoing issues, and we don’t wish to repeat the experience. Nevertheless, we let others do as they please. We just try to minimize our exposure. Freedom is precious.

Scientists know that deer can be infected by the virus that causes COVID-19. Now they want to know how it happens, and whether the deer might spread it back to us.
“We do know that at this point, every place that [deer] have been tested, there have been antibodies found,” Feehan said. “Whether it’s transmitting amongst deer populations, whether they’re contracting it somewhere in the environment — or any other mode that they’re getting it — it is transmitting regularly to deer.”
The idea to test deer for COVID was set off after a 2020 study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that — theoretically — certain protein receptors in white-tailed deer, and a number of other animals, could make the animals vulnerable to infection by the novel coronavirus.
Scientists at the National Wildlife Research Center realized they could test the theory in real life, having banked deer blood for years.

U.S. reports record 1.3M Covid cases in a day as hospitalizations soar
The United States reported 1.34 million Covid cases on Monday, according to an NBC News tally, with the daily case rate shattering global records as hospitalizations soared across the country.
At least 1,343,167 new Covid infections were identified on Monday, according to an NBC News’ tally, sweeping past the previous record of 1,044,970 cases that had been set on Jan. 3.
It also represents the highest daily total recorded for any country in the world, according to Reuters, with the U.S. recording a total of 61,490,917 cases since the Covid-19 pandemic began as of Monday, according to NBC News’ data.
The seven-day average for cases in the U.S. also reached its highest point yet on Monday, hitting an average of 740,594 cases per day, with 24 states reporting their highest 7-day average of all time.
The record-high numbers came as Covid hospitalizations in the U.S. also soared, with the seven-day average for hospitalizations reaching 135,574 on Monday, up 83.1 percent in the last two weeks.

Being vaccinated does not mean that you are a superman or superwoman and have the power to not catch covid. Not only can you get covid, but unknowingly, you can spread it as well. You can kill your own loved ones. So be cautious.
We are fully vaccinated, but we still sanitize everything and also sanitize ourselves after coming home from the store. We can’t be cautious enough.

It was also reported Ireland has a massive COVID-19 outbreak, despite the country being 91% vaccinated.
