I’m sick of the constant flaunting of sex—gay or straight—in the media.

America is as obsessed with sex as it is with I-phones!!

(Slight change of topic, but so annoying I must vent):

The obsession of all the local news editors on every TV channel about an ugly cross-eyed kid that disappeared several years ago, but for a couple of weeks now here must have her nauseating picture polluting every newscast while dishing up some tidbit about the disgusting parents.

As a blessing it must have been The Rapture, PLEASE move on and stop wasting valuable air time that should be used to cover more important news stories.

Again, Mark said (on Monday) “[it’s] time for THEM to deal.” Where’s his mom?

There was a time when “conservatives” said of homosexuality, and several other issues like marriage and abortion, “I may not like it, but it’s none of my damn business”. That was when they had a conscience and believed government should be kept out of our personal lives whenever possible.

Notice that Mark calling his father and partner Nazis is not considered hate speech. ‘It all started when he hit me back.’

Is this Nazi talk? Back when this strip was new, this view was probably seen as fascist. But, now, in the face of Trump fascism, this all makes sense. It might even be considered liberal. Wow. Time really does make a difference.

For some, “being gay where I can see you” was (and still is) considered “flaunting.” There is a difference between “flaunting” and “not hiding;” if holding hands or a kiss goodbye at the airport is not cause for comment when done by opposite-sex couples, it is not cause for comment when done by same-sex couples.

Is introducing your partner to your family “flaunting”? Is holding hands in public flaunting? Is a quick kiss in public flaunting? Is getting married flaunting? Since straight people can do these things without incident, they are not flaunting. I am get annoyed when someone straight (and/or religious) suggests these things are flaunting because it is same sex. And when someone gay says it, I feel sad for their internalized homophobia being so strong.

While not a fan of this character, I have to tell you that “flaming heterosexuals” can be just as annoying.

My, haven’t the right changed their attitude to a orderly, civil society. Of course, back then they said you were free to be yourself as long as it was to be just like them.

I’ve no problem with hetero people slobbering all over each other in public, but gay people holding hands should be jailed . . . .
