There must be a traffic light a few inches ahead.

I know I’ve posted it before, but it’s one of my favorite jokes:

Two snails on a turtle’s back. One says to the other, “Get ready for the ride of your life!” ☺

We got stuck on I95 in an ice storm, similar to the recent one. It took us 23 hours to go 8 miles to a spot where we could exit! We were coming back from a cruise. My son had bought a stuffed sloth and it was on the dash. I would take him and make his arms wave madly and say “COME ON!! Move it!” when we started crawling along at about 6 miles an hours, I had him yell “WOOOO HOOOOOO!!!” We were all going a bit nuts. At least we had a cooler full of snacks, and a hybrid, so we didn’t run out of gas!

While driving on highway 151 South in Wisconsin I came across signs that said, “Clean Restrooms Ahead”. I must have cleaned a half dozen public restrooms along 151 South before I got home.

Taking slow and safe to the extreme.

Something I remind people from time to time, it’s not how fast you can go, but how fast you can stop that is the most important. Adjust both to keep from doing things like this. Dying instantaneously is small comfort from the fact that you are now, quite suddenly, dead:

If people always behaved, we wouldn’t need laws. The less people practice self-discipline, the more government we need.
