Don’t blame you a bit.

I identify as a carnivore.

I have asparagus avoidance.

So the kid wants to spare Gus of impending doom of being eaten.

I have kale avoidance.

He has an irrational spear of asparagus.

Asparagus should be eaten with the fingers and the plate tilted…

“Yeah, well, I have feeding-your-ungrateful-hiney-every-day hesitancy. You get over yours, and I’ll try to get over mine.”

Pass me all those who don’t want it.

My pee smells bad enough as it is….

Don’t over cook it and you’ll actually enjoy it. I prefer broiled crispy with olive oil and Italian herbs.

I wonder if his hesitancy has to do with the resulting asparagus pee smell.

There are some vegetables I do not like. I’ve been trying them on and off for over 70 years. A few I have learned to tolerate, others I hate as much as I did when I was 5. Asparagus is one of them.

I’m discovering that most vegetables become at least tolerable when roasted. For some reason I’ve always liked asparagus — either roasted or cooked in lots of butter.

Love it Steamed just right , Nature’s way of cleaning out your Kidneys!

I must admit, this is one of those times where the comments are more fun than the comic itself.

As a kid, I thought I didn’t like asparagus. Later, I discovered that it didn’t necessarily come in cans. Now I like it.

Loved my mom, and miss her (and dad), but cooking was not one of her strong points.

I could not eat it when younger. Something in the boiling made me vomit at first scent. Still cannot unless it’s raw.

Mmmmm…asparagus NOMNOMNOM…I can make a whole meal out of a bunch of asparagus with melted butter.

I’ve always loved the “stinky” veggies – asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, spinach – & didn’t care for the “regular” ones except corn & green beans (don’t get peas & carrots anywhere near me, YUCK!). But they have to be COOKED SOFT – none of this crunchy steamed nonsense – so they don’t squeak on my teeth! Not necessarily mushy, but just so they’re not crunchy any more…

I remember when I detected a temporary change in my urine. I mentioned it to my primary care doctor and she asked if I’d eaten asparagus…

What are the side effects?

Could be worse – he might have had Asparagusberger’s Syndrome.
