After entering the mud field yesterday, those boots are probably still in the mud field. That’s what always happened to mine at Calvin’s age.

Listen for Mom’s shriek first, then just wait. After you’ve spent a year in your room, she will super glue them to your feet.

Maybe the boots were made for walking and they just walked on out of there, Calvin!

Calvin’s sense of orderly is just a tad off.

Hey, not problem with the muddy foot prints. Just do what I do. Let them dry for a day or so and them vacuum them up. Easy peasy. Japanesey.

I keep a shoe/boot tray by the back door.

Sure does have a lot of mud on his shoes…

Unfortunately, most small, modern houses no longer have the traditional “mud room” for boots.

He’s about to get one up his posterior when Mom finds out.

It is for this reason, among others, that I never want to live in a dwelling that has any carpeting anywhere…

If they live in snow country they should have a mudroom and the boots should be there.

I wear my shoes into the house and take them off in my bedroom. Unless it’s wet/muddy/snowy, then I leave them by the door outside.

You know what weirds me out is how in tv and movies you see people lounging on their beds with their shoes on. Who does that in real life?

When someone in your household is forced to get around in a power wheelchair, it’s like having a carpeted garage.

The general plan is to put boots on before you go out, Calvin.
